Not sure why no Bollywood actress has done this before - Kareena on flaunting the extra kilos during her pregnancy

Like a boss! Kareena Kapoor Khan has been flaunting her pregnancy with much ease, no fuss attached manner. In the last month of her pregnancy, Kareena is all over - be it film studios, magazine shoots or red carpet! And surprisingly, none of the actresses before have been so comfortable with flaunting their baby bump. But being the trendsetter she is, Bebo has been sailing against the tide and how.

In an interview with a leading daily, Kareena spoke about her size zero days and her take on exhibiting the extra kilos.

For the 2008 film Tashan, Kareena took down her weight to 46kgs and introduced India to Size Zero. "It was a different era. Before that, the voluptuous heroine is all we had. It was OK if you were a little tubby in a bikini. I took on the Size Zero challenge that Aditya Chopra threw at me for a movie role. It worked, and every girl in a sari then wanted to be a leggy lass and have six-pack abs. Today, actresses are more into fitness than ever. Every heroine is running to the gym, every actress wants a six-pack. But it's finding your own balance that's important. Like, I think Karisma (Kapoor) is very fit. Having said that, I'd love to be Size Zero again. It'll be exciting," shared the soon-to-be-mom!

Without being conscious, Kareena is going ahead with her public appearances, and not worrying about the way she looks. "Why should a woman be embarrassed about her body when she's pregnant? This is such a joyous experience; I'm loving the idea of sharing this pregnancy through this Brunch cover shoot with my fans and everyone who loves me. I don't see any reason to hide. If you've put on a bit of weight on your face, your arms etc when you're pregnant, it's okay. It's the only time you can proudly flaunt the extra kilos and say I'm a woman, and this is what God has made, and it's such a beautiful thing...' I'm not sure why no Bollywood actress has done this before!" said Bebo.

So is breaking convention something that Kareena does out of rebellion, or whether it's carefully planned?! "Nothing that has ever happened in my life has been planned. Not my films, not anything else. Which is why some things have been great, others not so. But I own everything I do very proudly... my successes and my failures. I take them all and wear them proudly on my sleeve," revealed the actress.

Kareena is expected to deliver by the beginning of December.

hmmm .. I guess there are actresses who've done this. Ash was the only one trying to cover herself in tents .. apart from that few others do take it easy.

What is her definition of flaunting the extra kilos? If she wants to be hyper-active during her pregnancy, attending every single event, giving interviews every day and doing photoshoots in her current form, it's her choice!

Some people like keeping a low-profile and she clearly doesn't appear to be smart enough to understand the difference.

Ash did an ad when she was pregnant.. She attended Cannes with all her baby fat and was shammed for it

No Kareena, you are not the first one doing it.. And neither is what you are doing something to be proud of. Its your choice.. Just like it is the choice of those actresses who do not desire to flaunt their pregnant body

I have yet to meet a pregnant women who is not proud of her body during pregnancy. What world does she live in?

Genelia attended Arpita's reception like 2-3 days before her delivery. It's totally the pregnant women's choice. Bebo has started to sound like Parineeti.

Just read this. She is such a joke. So you can't flaunt the extra kilos when you are not pregnant? That makes you a lesser woman?

I took on the Size Zero challenge that Aditya Chopra threw at me for a movie role. It worked, and every girl in a sari then wanted to be a leggy lass and have six-pack abs. Today, actresses are more into fitness than ever. Every heroine is running to the gym, every actress wants a six-pack.

Yet again she is mistaken, not every actress is running to the gym for a six pack or whatever: Ash, Vidya, to name a few. And it seems ridiculous to me that she wants to attribute people wanting to be fit because of her size zero gimmick. Actresses have done it before her and continue to do it after her.

Having said that, I'd love to be Size Zero again. It'll be exciting.

Good luck with that! But don't impose what you want to do with your body/life upon others who are not so vain; for whom a size zero body isn't the top priority.
