John's last film ROCKY HANDSOME had an opening day of 7.06 crores (including paid previews). According to Indicine, the holiday advantage for the opening day of that film was 35%, and without that advantage the opening would've been around 4.59 crores according to my calculation, which would be a fair estimate for FORCE 2 opening day. However, Indicine has also said that the demonestisation issue will have a negative impact on FORCE 2's opening day by 25-30%, so according to my calculation, the opening day should then be in the 3.21-3.44 crore range, the average of which gives an opening day collection of 3.33 crores.

Opening Day: 3.33 crores net

Opening Weekend: 9.33 crores net

Lifetime Collections: 16.63 crores net

Overall Box Office Collections: Disaster

The film hardly seems to have any buzz, and a low-buzz film releasing in the cold month of November (not cold just for weather, but for box office as well when there is no Diwali November release) is a recipe for disaster. The first FORCE (2011) itself didn't do well at the box office (it has a Flop verdict by BOI) so one wonders why there needed to be a sequel for this film anyway?

Sorry, I wasn't aware that Akira is the biggest blockbuster and broke the lifetime record of PK 😆

Force 2 Goes The Same Way as Force

Force 2 has floped at the box office just like its predecessor Force in 2011. The first week collections of the film were 26 crore nett as the film fell badly from Monday onward after a low weekend. The first week collections are the same as Force (2011) so Force 2 will go above that film but not by much. Also its not really important as the first one had a poor collection anyway. The film has suffered from low ticket rates as multiplexes lowered rates last week due to the cash crunch. Even this week it is playing on lowered rates as compared to Dear Zindagi which is on normal rates. The film has suffered due to this but not to the extent that the film could actually work if the cash crunch and lower ticket rates were not there.

The failure is down to bad content as other issues can hold the collections down but can't stop the film trending well be it at low collections. The only plus is probably that the film is not the disaster that Rock On 2 was last week as that was very bad content. The film may just about cross 30 crore nett in its lifetime run. The best business has come in Nizam / Andhra of around 1.75 crore nett. The Overseas is also not too good with the film just going over $1 million over the weekend. .
