Most people, as far as I know see a movie and go because it's an opportunity to hang out together.. most people. And, this is a love story..seems like one, with big big dialogues about dardbhari unrequited love :p ...so, people choose it. A combination of factors.

Few people do watch it for the sake of Ranbir or KJo or Anushka/Aish, songs.. None of the people I know really care much about Fawad/MNS/KRK-kjO-Ajay or anything.

The same team gave Bombay Velvet... the same team gave Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Both films are terrible... yet one was a washout, and one is faring decently.

Bottom line is no single person is responsible for openings, it is the whole package and perceptions 😆
