Tough one as both are awesome but I have my vote for Vidya because she has more viewer connectivity than Tabu..Also I love her voice modulation. She has a edge over Tabu in that aspect.

Tabu is an awesome actress, on pure acting talent she has actually shown more versatility than Vidya, but Vidya has that charm and down to earth person which personally attracts more. Plus there was time when Vidya was the top most actress while Tabu was always a B lister.

Tabu came at a time when content films (without stars) didn't often work especially heroine oriented films...

I love Vidya desperately want her to make a comeback! Although she did roles with some shades of grey but she didn't do an out and put negative character like Lady Macbeth. Nor did she explore comedy as much. Tabu stole the show for me in Biwi no. 1. But Tabu films someone pointed out werent successful. Because heroine oriented films didn't work. But as someone pointed out Vidya as better voice modulation.

Kind of unfair to Vidya because Tabu has far more experience and Tabu also debuted in a not-great era for heroines (90s), in which she shined in commercial movies and danced (rather) well in songs like 'Ruk Ruk Ruk' and Biwi #1 type roles, and excelled in performance oriented roles like Maachis, Hu Tu Tu, and then in 2000s with Chandni Bar, Maqbool, Namesake.

Vidya has experimented with the song-and-dance commercial roles (Hey Baby, Kismat Konnection, I'd even say Ghanchakkar and Bobby Jasoos ventured into the not too commercial but comedic genre) but she couldn't do as great a job as she did with Kahaani and Dirty Picture (that being said, Dirty Picture was out and out commercial). She excels in the intense acting roles as seen in Paa, Ishqiya and Kahaani.

So if I had to choose I would choose Tabu, but Vidya is no less. Both actresses are a class apart in an industry full of mediocrity.

vidya is a fab actress...
but im completely biased its tabu,tabu nd only tabu for me

Equal. Both are fantastic actresses.⭐️

And Kangana equally has Oscar winning potential. When I saw "ROOM", I could totally imagine Kangana doing a Brie Larson with aplomb. After HR fiasco, I think Rakesh Roshan should remake GONE GIRL with Kangana and Hrithik. Both will do full justice to their roles. 😆 I know it wouldn't EVER happen...

A few years down the line (mid 30s/early 40s)... Kangana can easily do a Blue Jasmine.
