I don't think controversy sold the movie . ADHM is a better promoted movie.

Shivay wasn't promoted well. They didn't utilize their wonderful star cast. If I was AD, I would have hyped Sayesha Sehgal. She is ace of movie, why did they not make her face of Shivay?

At the end of the day, WOM will decide which movie will go ahead. If Shivay is a wonderful movie, it will pick up and run on BO

Cos of hype it will defo open well on 1st day hence mubarak but i dont think it will sustain...cos of repeated formula..

Shivay promotion started well with the controversy of KRK. But then no promotion, no gimmick nothing..Marketing department sucked..After all its not an Aamir film where less is more. KJO is the biggest drama queen of the history of recent bollywood. Shivay should fire their 'marketing head' at once

But @RR how can you say ADHM not benefited from controversy? KJo has rightly played all the MNS drama in his favour and look at the buzz of ADHM today. When it started it has soo less buzz and now see the growth. All thanks to controversy. Lets admit it.

Marketing sucked for ADHM because look at the articles came out supporting the movie

1. Ranbir - Ash blind

2. Ranbir -KJo blind

3. Sasurji not promoting ADHM

4. Ara thinks Ranbir his daddy..

unending list of W*F articles. and then came Fawad and MNS controversy which KJO rightly played...

Opening ADHM will get better and lifetime for both will be under 140 cr ( may b I am being generous but who knows ) Hope both the films do well :)

ADHM total 115 cr

ADHM all the controversies surrounding, considering popularity of songs and fact that its love story and the story is good for youth as well as family. ADHM will have great opening around 15-20cr
Lifetime will be around 160

Shivaay rich VFX effects, emotional family plot, action will be its strength. Opening will be around 10 cr
Lifetime will be around 180
