Yes, the strikes and such activities have been happening especially whenever you hear of "heavy shelling", "violation of ceasefire" ..good chance of such strikes. See, till 9/11 nobody cared for India's cries about terrorism . Even the Kandhar plane hijack which probably got the world's focus on this didn't move them. Us, releasing those 3 terrorists will never be forgotten but 9/11 changed world's perception of terrorism . Then ISIS, AQ ..all the attacks have made a global perception and Govt.s are more cautious and just cannot turn a blind eye.

For Kashmir and India, it works because Modi has been on face known to go out of his way to establish a connection with Nawaz which wasn't expected of him. India has been soft towards them visibly and we did let go of Kashmir situation in last 2-3 years, hence the sudden increase in unrest, infiltration and breaches.

What changed now , we have moved away visibly from , "strategic restraint" to "visible action" which would be announced. Pakistan has had no other options but to use proxy war , cannot go for conventional and this validates the "terrorism" point India keeps on making in kashmir.

Depends on us how we maintain this. Our economic superiority means while no country will be vocal yet for India's cause, they would also never oppose India in it's actions too - recent strikes. Hence the world silence and indifference.

It's along game and we need to play it well.

Yes, almost all the governments of the world knew and know that Pak is the abettor of terrorist camps but by going public, by getting the media to highlight and attacks, I feel the present government is reducing the options for others...

World plays along the facade of democracy in Pakistan. Pakistan cannot afford to play beyond this.

As for China, it is a tight walk on the sword for India. If the governments ploy to get Pak isolated succeeds, China will not be left with an Ace to play. If China chooses to ignore the strictures , India rises in stature and any action it takes will bring forth a muted response from others.

China will use the security council clout to keep India at bay. The real war here is with China..economically. Can we match them, can we establish relationships with South East Asia ( who even if they hate China , won't buy India's support so easily till we match economically and be persistent).

*thinking aloud* This action/reaction did not happen overnight... Modi did not react when Pathankot happened, he did not react immediately after Uri either... He took his time ... did the planning began now (after Uri) or did it start earlier ? My gut feeling is , it started earlier, when India opened the Vietnam front, courted Iran and Afghanistan and also revived Chabahar... In all this Pak is a pawn used by both the countries... but what is the ultimate objective of India?

But you are giving him way too much credit . Vietnam was response to China's movements with Nepal, SL and Mynmar . Vietnam is still not happening for India yet..it will take years . But China is not pleased and this recent poking to pakistan to act works for them well- Keeps India engaged and South Asian centric while also giving Pakistan Army to shine again and take control.

Here in the UK, whenever there is a terror attack in Pakistan, I have seen the Indian community condemn the attacks and show solidarity with Pakistani people.

On the other hand, many Pakistani people here defend attacks on India and I have rarely, if ever, seen any Pakistani here condemning attacks in India .
