Aishwarya-Ranbir scenes in ADHM too bold? YEAH RIGHT!

So many posts talking about their so-called "overly done" intimate scenes.

But what's the reality? There's no skin-show, no smooching, no vulgar gestures.. yes, there is the licking cream off the cheek scene, but it's playful and sensuous. There is indeed lust. But it's tastefully done.

But is this being done for the first time in a big movie? Salman lifting up Jacqueline's skirt with his mouth isn't repulsive but this is? What about the Bahubali scene where Prabhas takes off Tamannah's clothes against her will? SRK openly saying madarch*d in HNY? All these are family films. If this more egregious stuff is not frowned upon as much and are not a deterrent to the movies, how will it be an issue for ADHM?

But on closer observation, why is there such a shock value attached? Is it because of the love scenes or because of the personal life of the actors? "OMG! She has been married for ten years and is a mother of a 5 year old kid, how can she do this! Cringee!"

So is that the real reason? The same people have no problems seeing married men do the same to single women onscreen. But if the tables are turned and if the woman in question is married, and a mother on top of that... blasphemy!!

I don't know why you make posts that I wanna make. 😆

Anyway, I wanted to know how the Indian audience perceives physical intimacy. Looks like it is viewed as something superficial and cheap. Not an expression of love.

Is someone's love more 'pure' just because they don't indulge in physical intimacy? I think that stems from the fact that physical intimacy is still taboo in our society.

Saba&Ayan were expressing their feelings (lust or whatever they may be) through physical gestures and that seems to make people uncomfortable. I don't get why though.

Isn't it natural for a couple or anyone who loves another person to want to do that?

I express my affection for my friends with physical gestures.

Passion is not impure nor is it a sin.

Yes it is possible that some people are being sexist..It is also possible that ppl are being blind in hatred..But it is also possible that some people just don't like it/ see any chemistry and don't like the pairing (which in turn can make it distasteful)..I hope thats allowed? That people can have the right to dislike it? That there are people who probably disliked both Salman lifting Jacky's skirt and now Ranbir groping Ash? That a few people would have still found it distasteful even if Ash was unmarried and 20 years old and it probably has nothing to do with her age or marital status? Why are we generalizing and clumping all the reactions together? I personally don't think they are supposed to have intense chemistry anyway based on what we assume to be the plot of the story and coincidentally i see no chemistry between them in any of the promos released so far and like i said, i don't even think thats an issue given the story..And thats my opinion..I hope we are allowed to have that..And not be generalized as people who are being sexist, jealous haters etc.

Was I addressing you in particular? You are entitled to your opinion and I am to mine. I ain't generalizing. I am talking about particularly hypocritical behaviour of some. If you are not one of those, you need not be so defensive. Chill.

^^ Well i know you weren't talking about me in particular and i wasn't getting defensive..I don't know where you got that from..I just had to put it out there that not everyone disliking something is being ageist or sexist..And it wasn't just meant for you..This forum tends to do that..You praise a fair skinned actress/ criticize the looks of someone dusky means you are obsessed with fair skin and you are being racist..I saw the same thing happening here which is why i mentioned that we shouldn't generalize and make everything into a social issue involving feminism, misogyny, racism etc. And no, it wasn't directed at you in particular..Mine was a general response too..

I don't think ponymo is talking about those who don't think AishBir have chemistry but even I have to admit that there are a lot of people who are probably being sexist and prejudiced. I think she was talking about them.
