Hey!

I had thought the film would open well but would peter out after the weekend due to poor reviews and bad WOM, but strangely, the film never opened well to begin with.

Can anyone of you explain why?

Despite the huge success of Kala Chashma, the promotions etc, why did few people go to the theatre on the weekend to watch it?

I can't explain it.

Opinions?

Raat Baaki with Fawad? I think she is.

Can anyone confirm this?

Isse toh acha I watch paint dry. 😆

😆

Toh you mean to say the audience did not have confidence in the actors?

Once bitten, twice shy ka case?

I would say I am part of the multiplex audience. So amongst the people I know, Katrina has a reputation of not being a good actress. And Sid has a somewhat similar rep. When people found out about this movie, a lot of them were like LOL both can't act. This was the general reaction.

And they weren't going to go watch a movie just for a hit song which is available on YT anyway. I mean I don't know about the general perception, but I knew this song would be in the end credits.😆 I'm actually surprised people thought this would be a hit. At least 1 person from the lead pairing should be able to act!

Do people really go to the theater for one song or because the leads look good ? 😲
I thought the trailer would not appeal to a non-urban audience mostly and in the metros/other countries especially Sid and Kat are not particularly known for their acting . Plus if you understood the trailer it looked like time travel which may not appeal to many.

ETA: It seemed always about Kalachashma song never the movie. Contrast it with movies like ADHM, Shivaay people want to talk about the story and are curious about it. There are fan wars seemingly every other day. They talk about BO. People are interested in the content, songs, the actors. That means they are interested in the movies. If they are interested in the movie, they generally go.

Oh so Sid has this reputation among the multiplex audience?

Thought it would be average/flop, but seems like exhibitors and distributors expected it to be a hit.
