the first thing that comes in my mind is sad ending toh nahin hogi?
sad ending hone se my best friend will cry..n then i wnt feel like eating
n without eating out the good time seems incomplete to me 😆

In the past few days, we got to hear about many new movie announcements from big actors.. The comments about the movie announcements were mostly k this film will surely break records... It will earn this and that.. It is coming on this date and that date
So my question is, why has so much attention been shifted to records and release dates.. Hardly anyone talks about the potential story or whether the movie sounds promising or what story it would have.. Why is that? Since when did movies become about records and BO business alone?

Also if people here are focused so much on records and BO numbers, why are the BW people blamed for becoming too money oriented? If people who will not get a dime care so much about money, why would BW people, who are earning the money not care about it.. Why will they not forget the importance of quality

Now I know i mention BO numbers and records, I would greatly appreciate if which movie made how much does not make its way here😆 I know the movie business of every SRK film.. No need to remind me again and comments like grapes are sour😆

I think nay I believe the focus of BW makers has changed. Previously, the focus would be on content and their own personal pride. There was a certain amount of pride in their work and an honesty to the craft but scenario slowly changed, commercialization became rampant, it became only about money and at this point another thing too happened...

Earlier people would be happy to sit fr 3 hours, overlook bloopers and ride on the emotional high but the latter generation began nitpick and also they were affected by restless and boredom syndrome..so movie makers had to create a shorter movie that would capture and rivet the attention of the moviegoers, gone was the elaborate detailing and in its place came the sudden twists, impactful technical razzmatazz - the story began to take a back seat and gimmicks came to the fore... quality was sacrificed at the altar of shock value... These gimmicks weren't cheap either..so focus shifted to earning the humongous amount they had invested in and pretty soon, only the harvesting of returns, investments, profits became the sole goal..

Extremely simplified and naive assessment IMO...Plus this is only one side of the page... if we began to debate, this can be a motherlode of interesting facts, perspective and information

Like I said silver jubilee or golden jubilee.

Bollywood has always treated success as the be all end all

Yamyam - For Khan fans, records are only things to achieve. They have achieved it all. Ruling for 25 years !! You have everything . That's why when movie is announced, Khan fans want it to break records . Coz only this makes you all happy.

Hamari movie announce hoti hai toh - Movie complete ho jae...promotions embarrassments, ridicule if it fails - All fan groups have different expectations as per position of star !!

With Dutt Biopic announcement - I want it to beat both SLB n Sallu movie !! That's my first reaction . Ek saath all Ex GF and unke BF Ko nipta do 😎

This. And that is the reason why we are into September and not one movie has come which you can say was spectacular.

2017 release dates are being announced left right and centre and I am not looking forward to even one of the movies, not one.

Same goes for 2018 (Thug included). Its clear they are being made with one purpose only. Thug's trailer will have to be something spectacular for me to start anticipating it. However with the Dhoom series director at the helm, I can't imagine it accomplishing that.

Dangal is the one I can't wait to see, because it is there to tell a story; and that's what film-making is; telling great stories. And it took around 2 years to make, that tells the difference.

On the other hand, going to Hollywood;
I have seen LaLa Land, Arrival, Manchester by the Sea, Moonlight, Voyage of Time, Nocturnal Animals, Toni Eardmann among others in the last few days and they are stellar especially the first three.

If you get the chance, forget everything else do see them. You won't regret it.
Manchester by the Sea maybe the best movie I have seen in years. It is beautiful, pure, raw and simply devastating. Masterful direction, screen-writing and acting.

La La Land is pure magic, its a love letter to the musicals and the movies of the old. I loved it. And Arrival is your interstellar of this year, dealing with quite sophisticated and complex ideas, it doesn't shy away from them. The best Sci-fi in years.

And these have nothing to do with budgets or effects. The use the the oldest trick in the book, tell a great story aided by some great acting and cinematography. That is what makes the art of film-making an going to the movies a truly magical experience.
