when you compare- compare both the plus and negatives of a star

VD might not have given such profits like YJHD lets say but he also has not given such losses like BV

so consider both these factors

This exactly. I'm not understanding this notion of 'big films' = stardom. Currently Varun is taking small films with lesser known directors and co-stars and making them big.

For the record Gunday ( 14.82 cr ) opened better than all Varun movies minus Dilwale.

can I say Arjun Kapoor is bigger star than Varun D
