It was a horrific effort by KJO. All fluff and nonsense and no heart unlike his previous films. The performances by the three leads were bad as well. But I will not blame them for their performance, especially Varun and Alia. Alia blew me away in her next film Highway and like I always say, unless she had a talent transplant Imtiaz was able to bring out her inherent talent even when it was raw unlike KJO. Varun has continued to make me like him and Sid is slowly growing on me. This film made me think KJO has lost the plot when it came to direction and writing and even lost interest in films.

I used to always trust his vision blindly but I think it was more because of SRK-Kajol. He is on probation now with me for ADHM.

All fluff and no heart- I think that was my exact problem with the film. Fluff is not a problem. It's when it is superficial and lacks emotional depth that it becomes tiring.

K3G was fluffy too, but I think most of us enjoy watching it. The characters and their problems didn't feel trivial in it.

Here, it's just like "Do I choose the six packs or the dimples?"

honestly i did not like the hype about actors and it was all before the movie release.spec about vd and sid.bcoz i think actors should be first judge on their acting then looks.😊

and for me all three just showed off their looks rather then acting.spec sid and alia.

they explored themselves more after SOTY.

i liked disco deewane more then ishq wala love,bcoz i could not understand the lyrics.what was surkh wala love etc etc..😛

so overall the movie just gave us handsome actors and nothing else.😛

Honestly my first opinion they shouldn't have called it a "school" because it was college that too on some different level 😆

And as you mentioned a witty(we can call him so) guy like Abhimanyu falls for a dumb girl shanaya. Till date I don't understand the fact why did shanaya choose Abhi, i mean till the last scene she was confused between abhi and rohan , she was applauding for rohan when he won. And the thing to be mentioned is kjo really messed up shanaya's character (according to me) .

But still i find it a time pass movie , with good songs , full chill college/school life , love triangle and a big fat Indian wedding 😆

it was more like a high school type story
the last part of the competition i felt like taken from Harry Potter
the philosophers stone and the goblet of fire parts
