I agree with Yam. Negative campaign does work to an extent. Social media is more powerful than we would like to think.

Not sure how true this is.
But shame if it's true. He is such a senior star... And a big one. He should be more confident in his own work.

Target audience is multiplex audience which is active on social media. This very much works in creating negativity against a film. In a clash, even slightly mixed reviews are death for a film. They can both be mediocre but one is praised like it's the best movie on earth and other is worst = people don't even give one film a fair chance. Social media has a big hand in this. Of course, no one can stop a film from working if the product is good but it can do enough damage that people won't even give it a chance.

This clash IMHO will be the dirtiest. KJo is not a pushover.

the negative campaign do happen...the recent case was the defense minister had stated that he knew there was a paid campaign against Aamir...you could see as soon as Dangal poster released the very next day there was such negative campaign...

If the movie is good I don't think these kind of thing will work. For ok types/bad movies this kind of adds to one of the reasons for its failure 🤔
