When Salman Khan was picked as the Indian Olympic Association's (IOA) Goodwill Ambassador, there was a controversy that followed. Many debated and expressed their displeasure on Salman Khan's appointment as the ambassador but he always had valid statements on why his appointment is justified.
At the trailer launch of Freaky Ali, Salman Khan forgot the name of India's star gymnast Dipa Karmakar and instead of Dipa, he addressed her as Deepika.
On the same day when Salman Khan made this blunder, Dipa made history by becoming the first Indian to qualify for the individual vault finals in her debut Olympics. She finished eighth in the qualifying round and will now be competing in the finals scheduled for August 14th.
