The Collection is bad and disappointing if we compare it to Hrithik's blockbuster movie but it's good if we consider the negativity surrounding it even before the release of the movie and the way critics declared it to be disaster since first day morning show itself.

The major collection I suppose is coming from current booking and not advance. Whatever amount it has collected is solely cause mixed/positive word of mouth. if it was that bad, the collection would have dropped considerably which happens with lot of bad movies.

Hope it remains stable in week days and survive the next week, to get a respectable total.

The collection would start dropping with less screen count.

7 reasons why Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro turned out to be a DISAPPOINTMENT at the box office

The unimpressive trailers

Clashing with Akshay Kumar, the most bankable star

Less than impressive marketing strategy

ontinuing with Akshay Kumar, he made half the industry, with the likes of Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, support his film through little videos. Meanwhile, Mohenjo Daro's marketing was not much to talk about. In this era of aggressive marketing, that's a huge missout!

Editing disaster and zilch chemistry between the leads

AR Rahman in not-so-great form

Bad CGI

Poor critical acclaim and word-of-mouth response

ll the above factors will, of course, lead to bad reviews. Unless you are a Salman Khan, there is no way you can save the film from surviving the bad buzz, especially when people do have another option to watch at the theatres. So Rustom scores again!

The release day was so negative, thankfully the movie didn't crash badly and is doing decent in competition with Rustom which has been the winner here.

no it's not gone the BV way...but still the BO collections r poor...the buzz was low,the reason y the second trailer should have been released at least try to increase the buzz...
can't say on recovering costs...
the story, underdeveloped chars, screenplay, poor CGI were unanimously criticized which even I agree but some of them went overboard...like comparison with Shandaar...the film was definitely not as bad as Shandaar...atleast the film is a decent one time watch...yup good to see Hrithik's performance praised...

Mohenjo Daro Box Office Collections in 4 days

2 mins agoby Indicine TeamAdd Comment1 min read

Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro is sustaining reasonably well at the box office and the percentage of growth and drop over the extended weekend was quite similar to Rustom. But the problem remained the same, while Rustom is performing at a very high level, the collections of Mohenjo Daro are way too low to give the film any chance of recovering costs.

The fate of the film will be dependent on how well it performs on Tuesday (today). Anything less than 4 crore will be curtains for the film, while a strong hold at around the 5 crore will mean it could go on to cross the 70 crore mark.

A hugely disappointing total on Friday raised fears that Mohenjo Daro will be the biggest disaster of 2016, but the growth over the weekend has probably pushed the film from disaster' to flop' territory.

It still has one open week at the box office and a strong hold on Tuesday will mean it'll retain more shows than it otherwise would at multiplexes in Week 2.

Day Mohenjo Daro Growth / Drop Percentage
Day 1 (Friday) 8.87 -
Day 2 (Saturday) 9.60 + 8%
Day 3 (Sunday) 12.07 + 26%
Day 4 (Monday) 10.36 - 14%
India Total Collections 40.90 crore

Rustom was worse . the courtroom scenes were immature.

The only reason MD is shown as inferior is due to bias and bad reviews. This a movie that will be remembered long after Rustom is forgotten.

again

your opinion

many people enjoyed the court scenes..they were witty and interesting.

and why biased reviews? their reviews..their opinion..they are entitled to it..you cannot challenge some one's taste and call it biased just coz it doesn't match yours

sure you can live in your la la land..let it be remembered later and let rustom score big for now..

I watched the movie yesterday after reading members reviews here. And I regretted heavily because I didn't realize those reviews are of blind hrithik fans.

First half was boring.

Second half was interesting. The climax was the best. 👍🏼 👏

Hrithik's acting was really good but not that great as his fans claim.

Pooja looked pretty. She too is a good actress but still needs lot of improvement.

The music and the VFX were awesome.I wish Sarsariya song was added too.

I wish AG would have paid more attention to the story too.

This movie is just an ok movie,a one time watch.
