So members reviews here it seems like it's a good movie then why didn't they promote it as such. Why was UTV not aggressive with their promotions, they could have promote this as Bollywoods Bahubali.

Arghh, just frustrating as Hrithik fan to wait for his movie for two years and to see him fail even though he worked so hard.

I'm glad the WOM is catching up! It seems unbelievable when I see reviews that are trashing such a good film. About the BO collections, there are various factors that have played against the film. I think it's firstly due to the clash, because the trailers have received mixed to negative feedback, it's not an out and out commercial film plus promotions have been so dull and there has not been much support from Bollywood. I read something, somewhere about a classic case of sabotaging regarding Mohenjo Daro. What does that mean? 😕

I finally watched the film. As for my review well this is surely neither HR's nor Ashutosh's best work but def not as bad as to be dissed completely. Its a decent one time watch, just like people are saying about Rustom. I think the main problem with the movie is Ashutosh's vision. Somehow it seems Ashutosh was so happy with his research/sets/detailing of artwork that he forgot to concentrate on the story. In some frames it seemed as if everyone is in a hurry to finish the film. HR has put in a lot of effort specially in action scenes. He is amazing there with perfectly restrained expressions. But its actually in the emotional scenes that even an otherwise emotionally so balanced actor like HR seems to be putting too much emotion as compared to the whole setting and thats the main problem. Nothing in the film tries to connect apart from HR that sometimes makes him look like being out of the place. For ex he feels for the MD localites but the crowd is never shown in a way that you can connect to any of them. So def there are gaps but again this is a decent watch. Heres hoping that atleast the film doesnt incur losses and finally its a big call to HR to stop investing so much in one film in terms of both his time and energy. Its better to do atleast one film a year and its time to experiment. With D2, Agneepath and JA he experimented with action/history and excelled there. Now its time to do something different.

PS Some parts are beautifully picturised like the climax..,.EPIC. HR is amazing in that whole 15-20 min long sequence. Also, HR and Pooja's kissing scene is too adorable. Rather the sad part is there so less conversation scenes between these two that u feel why didnt they include their scenes, the two seem to have a lot of chemistry.

It is doing reasonably well for "So Called" disaster movie termed by critics on first morning of the release. Hope it survives the weekdays.

I saw it yesterday with my cousins, it may not be an outstanding movie but it is not as bad as it is made out to be. It's a good one time watch. I suppose the VFX is major let down otherwise movie would have grown much better.

#MohenjoDaro did not get the required boost on Mon [Independence Day]... Although the 4-day total is decent, it should've been much higher.

As Monday was a holiday it should have done 15 crs at least. I don't know the collections are bad and disappointing. The Film seems to be having a limited target audience.

Mohenjo Daro First Monday Business

Mohenjo Daro did fair business on Independence Day clocking up a 10 crore nett total and taking its tally to 40 crore nett. The film dropped around 15-20% from the previous day. The film has not done too bad till date from the start it took. It has covered 40 crore nett in four days from a start of 8.75 crore nett with a stronger film releasing on the same day. It is nowhere near good enough for the costs of the film but they way the film opened and the competition from Rustom it could have gone the Bombay Velvet way and totally fizzled out. The film still faces problems on Tuesday as the main areas of Mumbai and North are pretty low and could fall badly on Tuesday. Below are the daily first four day figures of Mohenjo Daro.

Friday - 8,75,00,000
Saturday - 9,50,00,000
Sunday - 12,00,00,000
Monday - 10,00,00,000
TOTAL - 40,25,00,000

The first week business of the film will depend on where it goes tomorrow. There are a couple of partial holidays over the next few days but they only provide limited help and pust collections up by 10-25% from the normal. It will be the second weeknd that will tell where Mohenjo Daro will finnally go.

yes that was bound to happen but even if it continues with this pace and has a good WOM from here, costs will be recovered. At this stage I'm just happy that Hrithik's performance is unanimously praised and it hasn't gone the Bombay velvet way. The release day was so negative, thankfully the movie didn't crash badly and is doing decent in competition with Rustom which has been the winner here.
