Subtle, understated love stories have infinite times more charm than OTT, cheesy ones..Like say Sri and the French guy in EV..It wasn't even a love story per se..Unrequited love yet was so beautiful and progressive in a way..I cant stand love stories where they repeat a million times that they cant live without each other or lose their shit when the other party has the slightest of injuries..Reason why i dont connect to majority of the 'epic' love stories these days..Of course i liked a lot of those cliched ones thanks to the acting and chemistry but the best love stories are ones where the love is subtle and understated..Oh and i dig tragedies and stories of unrequited love so anything which falls in that category gets extra points 😆

There is one short story by Ruskin Bond... "The Night Train At Deoli"
Man! Its so beautiful ❤️ Gives me goosebumps everytime I read it. So hauntingly beautiful
And I've a thing for one-sided/unrequited lovestories 😆
Then there is Lootera ❤️ Actually most of O Henry's (including the epic "The Gift Of Magi")
Then that unspoken attraction between Piku & Rana ❤️ I sooo wanted to see more of them in the film

I totally despise stories like Aashiqui 2 or Bajirao Mastani 😳
Too much melodrama is something I hate to the core 😆

The first love story I ever read was the Love Story by Eric Segal. Though I find it really mediocre now but when I read it , I was a teen with full of emotions and I remember i was overwhelmed thinking to myself love is beautiful! Yes I find it stupid now but somehow those emotions stayed with me and i guess I had to mention this as my first lovevstory that I read.<3

Then there are some Dostoyevsky's books which are very deep and gives me peaceful feelings! <3

Love: Brokeback Mountain (to me, THIS is LOVE!) Atonement (so heartbreaking that I haven't watched my Jamesie's glorious BRIIGHT blue eyes & indecent pink lips b/c I just end up bawling like a baby, my Robbie & Cici 😭 ) , Casablanca & Roman Holiday (criminal for unrequited/incompletelove stories), King & I, One Day, Amar Prem, Aandhi, Ek Hasina Thi ( I enjoy Love in it's darker forms, lol) Movies that show/reflect/pontificate on every shade
Of this crazy, INSANE emotion, are movies I love watching!


I also looove rom-coma like Never Been Kissed, 10 Things I Hate About You, One Fine Day, The Proposal, But the cutest, most adorable of them all for me is probably, Casanova with the dearly missed & hugely talented, Heath Ledger. His time came TOO, much TOO early! 😭

Anyway, this is an adorable rom-com in a historical setting where Heath played the much-infamous, Casanova, set amidst the languorously beautiful & sexy Venice, Sienna Miller & he had cute, sparring chemistry. I love this one! Kate & Leopold is another very cute rom-com!


But OFC, the ultimate rom-com/love story for me are 2- Pride & Prejudice & Gone With The Wind! Rhett & Mr Darcy & Robbie FTW FOR LIFE.



Harry would NEVER have worked with 'Mione!! Too much sibling love & relationship! She was best with Ron! But Harry would've been best with Draco.' 😃 ... The whole Ginny angle was TOTES LAZY BS!!! 😡
