Dishoom : 2nd Wednesday Box Office Collections

Dishoom starring Varun Dhawan and John Abraham in lead roles has managed to pull off a decent business so far. The action drama, collected 1.15 crores on its second Wednesday, thus taking its total to 67.34 crores at the domestic box office

The failure of last week's releases has been beneficial for Dishoom since it became the only choice for audiences to flock to theaters.

With two big releases this week, Dishoomscreen count will be slashed and the film is expected to slow down even more.

It seems difficult for the film to make it to a lifetime total of 75 crore mark now

Budget is 80 Cr as per KRK only & his ulterior motives are pretty obvious as far as varun is concerned 😆

Budget is 65 Cr as per most sites. Indicine will give it a Semi-Hit verdict while BOI will give it Avg. tag

Anyways I am just glad about the fact that Varun pulled Dishoom's collection till 70 Cr that is when it was looking like his Besharam or Kill dil not to mention the unanimous praise he recieved from critics & neutral audience for his performance.

I honestly had no hopes from this film after all the songs flopped & that Jaaneman aah made buzz even more negative. So its an achievement for him to make Dishoom work till certain extent with an unsuccessful director not so happening co-stars releasing after Sultan Kabali & before Rustom Mohenjodaro 😆admist torrential rains badly affecting the biz. phew...

Dishoom Total Box Office Collections and Business Economics

Dishoom is sustaining well at the box office, as the film has collected 2.5 crore on its 8th day (official figures not released). 2nd Friday business was always going to be crucial, because a big drop would've meant a total of around 60-62 crore (which was our LBO prediction).

But a strong hold has ensured that the film will cross the Rs 65 crore mark by the end of its run. If the film shows good growth on Saturday and Sunday, it could amass Rs 70 crore at the domestic box office - which will be a very good total.

Some points:

Dishoom is the biggest success and grosser of Rohit Dhawan's career as director. His first film Desi Boyz' opened well, but failed to sustain in the long run. It finished with lifetime business of 46.5 crore in 2011 and was a below average' grosser.
Dishoom was the third biggest opening of Varun's career after Dilwale (21 crore) and ABCD 2 (14.3 crore). In other words, it was his biggest solo non-franchise opener. After a poorly received trailer, the opening was above trade expectations.
At the time of its release, Dishoom managed to get the 6th highest opening (Read More) and 7th highest opening weekend of 2016 (Read More)
Dishoom will be the 7th consecutive success of Varun Dhawan's career. His success ratio will remain at 100%. (Read more) Note: In the unlikely scenario that the film drops and fails to cross 60 crore, this point will be updated.
With collections of $3 million (still counting), Dishoom is the highest solo overseas grosser of Varun's career. Ahead of ABCD 2 ($2.82 million) and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania ($2.3 million). Dilwale remains his highest grosser, but the comparison is unfair because it featured a top superstar like Shah Rukh Khan.
Dishoom will also be the sixth 100 crore worldwide grosser for Varun Dhawan. All his films, except Main Tera Hero and Badlapur, have crossed the 100 crore worldwide mark.
For Jacqueline Fernandez, Dishoom will be the 7th highest career grosser after Kick, Housefull series, Race 2 and Brothers.
For John Abraham, Dishoom will be the 4th highest grosser after Housefull 2, Race 2 and Welcome Back. All were multi starrers, Dishoom is no different.

Enjoyable movie

Nice homage to MIB

Thankfully pari was just a guest appearance in end so she didnt ruin the movie.

Would like to see varun doing something more in different fenres now

And john do something like batman.

Though i dozed for sleep in last 30 mins but tht has m0re to do with me not sleepung fr 3 days

Overall a decent entertainer

and that krk 😃 the way he's avoiding Dishoom overseas collection and satellite rights and Music rights 🤢

Dishoom's 2nd Week Box Office Collection

Dishoom had a decent second week as it brought around 14 crore at the Box Office. While the second weekend saw a good hike with over 10 crore coming in, the weekdays ensured that the film came closer to the 70 crore mark. With the collections standing at67.5 crore*, the film is a profitable affair for all involved.

With Rustom and Mohenjo Daro occupying over 90% of screens between them and several other Hollywood movies too running in a show or two, Dishoom is finding itself at a stage when it would do lesser than its potential. This has been the case with it right from the opening weekend when at least 5 crore were robbed from its total due to incessant rains in major part of the country.

Box Office - Dishoom to go past 70 crore lifetime

It did benefit due to lack of competition in the second week but the loss of numbers in the first three days did hurt it. Now due to it being sandwiched between an Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan starrer, it has lost3-4 crore more.

The film could have stretched to the 80 crore mark but would now settle for less. Still, it is an earner at the end of the day and while more could have been earned, it still ticks the box as one of the few successful films in 2016.

Every Fan of other actors feels the same about Varun fans 😃

Dishoom is Average, When the budget is high (65 cr) Varun failed to deliver 😳
