This is why people don't want to cooperate with police and become witness to any crime. Kya milega ? sardardi, harassment and threats ...

btw, on a slightly unrelated note, i keep hearing a lot 'if salman was your family' arguments. Well today, a 19 year old murder accused broke out of prison in ahemdabad. Our police as usual was running around like headless chickens. But guess what, his own mother turned him in.

decent log ab bhi hain. who despite having no money want to fight for whats right. but with our system so screwed up, i do wonder for how long

That argument was started by me asking "what if Salman killed one of your family members" to the ones supporting and celebrating as if he had done something to be proud about

and people spun in around and said "what if Salman was your family".

I had answered it in another thread by saying I would turn him and if he killed anyone in my family I would shoot that fcuker.

In recent times i read of many high profile rape cases in USA, and all of them the criminal walked with less jail time (one got 6 months!!!) . And the judge's reasoning is that we don't want to spoil the life of the boy.

Even in india, when the government said that anyone over 16 (instead of 18) accused of heinous crime will be tried like an adult, all the activists were up in arms defending these "children"

my point is why are people always sympathizing with the criminal rather than the victim? Like your argument which was turned around - why put yourself in the shoes of the criminal rather than the one who was wronged ? I don't get this mentality
