Their talent or lack thereof is not an issue for me, but saying he brought down the quality of industry when is...

I think if you have to blame an actor Bachchan deserves more 'credit' than Khanna ( or any other actor) who has given much better movies.

I am not saying Shah is right in saying RK was the reason why BW is mediocre.
I am just saying RK was a mediocre actor.

commercial potboilers. hero thrashing villan and uske aadmi. saving heroine. maa either blind, baap ki maut ka badla. 6-7 songs. thats it. actors were so busy that they didn't even remember their films, characters and stories. they just wear costume. spoke dialogues thats it.

U forgot the all important - running around the trees, two flowers coming together ..

They were so busy with the movies because these "weak on logic/mindless scripts"became blockbusters. There was no incentive for the makers to do a quality check.

kaka ji was the person who really loved his fans. and one thing even if he was average than why to say it after his death. could have said it in front of him. Its true even amit ji didn't justice to his talent after amar akbar anthony he was amitabh. mainly works in commercial potboilers.
