Steeped in India's rich and vibrant culture , adorned with classical folk music and paying tribute to a glorious era, the trailer of Padmavti promises audiences a glimpse of what's in store a classic romantic tale between Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor as they share screen space for the very first time, to a battle-scarred Ranveer Singh in a never-seen-before menacing avatar.

The trailer of the visual extravaganza created a splash with trade and cinema influencers all praise for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's offering.

Padmavati / Padmini means the one who resides in a Lotus. It is Lakshmi's name. Khilji shown repeatedly with the Lotus symbolizes his desire to own her.

No matter how much one criticizes Bhansali's movies as being over the top, he is still a master at movie making. His films are just mesmerizing and larger-than-life and they do hold a certain appeal.

Padmavati is going to be a massive blockbuster. It does have shades of BM, but that is given, considering they are both historical and have the same set of actors. There are very few directors who have Bhansali's vision and grandeur and the audience today waits for these sort of movies.

I concur, SLB is a genius and his films are always different from the rest of the crowd . Every frame every sequence is poetic and also filled with imagery and motiffs.

He showcases Indian culture grandeur like no other and the best part is he understands them well. The music the setting it all blends so well into the narrative. creates a larger than life world before you and you are drawn into the visual spectacle created by the master craftsman.

I wish they DO make a spin off of Khilji, Kamala and Malik!

It's a fantastic story. Way better than padmavati.

Kamala was to khilji what Jodha was to Akbar in a way

Really? I dont think Khilji was capable of loving someone, Kamala/Mehru was only one of Khilji's many wives in the harem. What will be left to show if there is no love? as in Khilji remains evil as he is .. Kamla couldnt bring in any change or transformation.
