Varun Dhawan - Below Average - Page 3

Never liked him. He just isn't hero material. Looks, behaves and talks like a tapori or street gunda. Also lacks height and has a weird body, longer torso compared to limbs and legs. To people who think he can be next Salman, I say no way! He does not have half the charm and screen presence that Salman does! Acting is subjective, but I don't find Varun a decent actor too. He always seems to overact and has too much energy when dancing. Off screen personality is also very off-putting. 🤢 What is there to like about him??

I used to like him but now he is just annoying. Super overrated in everything. Weird now I think Sid is much better offscreen and I could actually sit through his wooden acting. His OTTness in Dishoom trailer was irritating. To the extend I could go through the screen and give him some slap to shut him up. His dancing is still fine but acting is just NO NO. It doesnt help that he has zero charm.

Why do people always get defensive and need to bring others into the discussion. The question here is Varun and not Ranveer.
Its good if Varun till now never had a flop but the movies i saw there is only one movie which was impressive and that was Badlapur and for me he wasnt even the best thing in that movie. But headsoff that he did it shows that he wants to try different things but his acting in there was totally average so never understood when people said he deserved an award. Other actors could have delivered even a much better performance in that movie.
Everyone has a different taste for me he isnt good looking and has no charme and even with beard he still comes across like a child. And he has one of the worst looking bodys sorry. He is really trying to be a crossover from Bhai and Chichi. Showing off his muscles in every movie and trying to be funny. He is a better dancer than a Arjun, Sid , Ranbir and ARK but not better than HR, Shahid, Veer and Tiger.
His offscreen personality screams fakeness I know every actors is to a point fake but some are still likeable and others well better stuck to their movies but with Varun it must be a badlapur that i go and watch it. Definetely no versatility one badlapur doesnt make you that.

He somehow can connect to his audience despite all his flaws.
Having an almost 100% BO record is no feat.

But I agree he's preety average looking with average and average acting prowess.

Each to his own. Personally do like him, yes he has flaws but definitely has potential. He has achieved critical appreciation along with commercial success so I don't think its quite fair to label him a complete non-actor. Let's see where he goes from here, it takes time to get your hands on a good script and he has expressed to some fans that he's working on something content- based so my fingers are crossed.
