In case anyone was wondering why is it that Salman is so arrogant and obnoxious, you have the answer right here

It is all the womens fault. First Helen, and then break up with Somy, then Sangeeta, the fights with Aish, and backstabbing by Katrina. His heart broke a little every time he was let down and he downed his sorrows with alcohol. He sought comfort in his anguish by punching, he sought solace in driving up over people, he sought relief in shooting animals.

Haven't seen the interview. But Salman and Salim Khan are a major supporter for Modi. It isn't just a casual meet up. They campaigned for Modi vigorously and there are many articles about it. He also scored major brownie points from some Muslim vote bank during the election as Salman threw his support behind him.
