Had anyone including Shahrukh uttered such a disgusting statement, My reaction would be the same.. So I will repeat, I pity the thinking of those who support this statement and find nothing wrong in it

Every doesn't have proper communication skills dear plus on forum also people use rape word like raping the report button ...doesn't mean those people have bad character .It is also said he should apologize for hurting the sentiments of public but the point is over exaggeration of that matter .It's not normal but the reaction over here like he raped a women which is wrong. The choice of wrong words to describe is not equal to cheap crass mentality ...

so a SUCCESSFUL, EDUCATED, ABSOLUTELY FAMOUS person like SALMAN KHAN can say something like this which is very much disgusting...sorry to say salman sir, though I respect u, but what you said is not acceptable... u can never ever feel the pain of a RAPED WOMEN, actually no one can... only a victim can feel the pain, not only physically but emtionally too...may b you will forgt your pain within a month or two, but the actual victim can never do that so don't insult them more by your comparison...we can understand, u are a human, and human do mistakes... I just hope u will understand your mistake soon and apologize to everyone openly...THATS IT

Raping the report button has a different meaning.. Talking about a raped woman is different.. Who on earth talks about rape victims in such a casual manner?!! That is not wrong communication skill.. that is the guttery mind speaking of his🥱 He has a cheap mentality that such a comparison could even be drawn in his head🤢

Yes, uttering this word by Salman is unpardonable . Its not equal to "raped report button" coz he used word "woman" in his statement.

I hope people stop giving excuses and defending Salman here. For once, lets be woman first, a fan later.

It was the choice of wrong words which he should apologize but what's with the character assasination as if he raped a women. You think none have idea of what rape is .Anyone would prefer death over rape. But Salman exaggerated his pain by comparing to raped women and people are exaggerating this matter as if he raped any women.

tanvismile having an idea of rape is different from experience. unless one is a rape victim it can't be spoken about with "having an idea". consideration and sensitivity must be shown by not making light of such a serious physical, emotional, psychological trauma which rape victims experience and have to live through for years.

it took seconds for salman to utter raped woman and it was his choice to say that. he got to "exaggerate" but what rape victims suffer and go through only they know. don't forget they never had a choice in what they faced and what they went through.

rape is not meant to be used lightly as a joke or as an exaggeration. anyone doing so is wrong and should be condemned for it. salman is not a 20 year old, who is used to rape jokes, because of his college friends. he is 50 years old. he has seen a lot in life and should know better than to use rape lightly like that.

Rimi, thank you for saying this.

I think we can agree that subjects like this one are very sensitive, serious, and important. This goes beyond movies, BW, favourite actors/actresses.

Thankfully IF has been better than twitter and calling it wrong when it is.

Is making a rape joke a crime? No. Freedom of speech protects people to say what they want.
Is making a rape joke distasteful? It depends.

Some people draw a hard and fast line at rape. It is not a topic to be joked about. I personally believe that there are some exceptions like Amy Schumer's Friday Night Lights sketch or Bill Cosby sketch which highlighted the problems about rape culture in our society.

Rape is a heinous crime that leaves an indelible physical, emotional, and psychological impact on victims and their families. It is a traumatic event that impacts people significantly, sometimes for the rest of their lives. It is not something to be made light of.

To compare one's voluntary and exhausting work to that of a rape victim is highly insensitive, immoral, unethical and wrong on many levels. Those of us privileged enough to never experience rape will never understand what victims go through. To joke that our difficulties are no different from theirs is just unacceptable.

Rape is often used casually by people such as raping a report button or raped a project/song/performance etc. Ideally people should not use rape so lightly. Such callous usage is part of rape culture that prevents rape from being taken seriously. Yet there is a big difference between the colloquial usage and what Salman did. In the colloquial usage of rape, people are comparing themselves or their friends to the perpetrator. It is a self-deprecating humor that says someone is doing something so horribly wrong that they are as bad as rapists. Still a big troublesome, but not as atrocious. The problem with Salman's usage is that he compared himself with a victim. No privileged person should ever compare themselves to a rape victim. That is a line that must never be crossed
