Aamir Khan, who has been keeping a strict watch over his diet to lose the weight he had put on for Dangal, let go of his diet and how! He attended Geeta Phogat's wedding at Balali on Sunday with Sakshi Tanwar and gorged on some home-cooked food consisting of makki di roti and sarson specially made for him. Says a source, "Aamir loves home-cooked food, but at the wedding he was like a child. White butter made at home was ladled heavily all over the food. He doesn't like gajar ki halwa so he usually avoids it, but as Geeta's family insisted he tried some, and after the first bite he had three helpings of it! He even kept urging Sakshi who eats sparingly, to have it."

The source adds that Aamir attended the wedding from the bride's side of the family. "He had bought huge thaalis of dry fruits and saris and clothes for Geeta's entire family. He had wanted to gift her the wedding jodaa too, but as it has to come from the girl's mama, he didn't. Aamir individually met and greeted all the 200 guests present there at the wedding." When quizzed by the local media if he attended the wedding to promote Dangal(the film revolves around the lives of the Phogat sisters), Aamir said it had nothing to do with it. He added that even if the wedding had happened a few months before or after the film's release, he would have attended.
