Whats your take on the songs?

The story is such that it doesn't need songs. They will hinder the narrative and would be feel out of place. What it needs is a powerful BG score. Something Pritam is not capable of, from what I have seen of his work.

AR Rehman or Amit Triveid would have been perfect for this.

If they have to put songs in, there should be a couple utmost and used with some thought. Perhaps with the opening and ending credits??

I suppose the songs are only going to be in the background. Actually it's better this way. We can trust Pritam with this. Also, is not he doing the same with JJ? 23 something songs.

I find Pritam's to be pretty mediocre. His only work that I have liked so far is Barfi. Yes, his songs are chart busters but they are hardly anything to take notice of. The BG score is even worse.

Music is my only worry with Dangal as of now. Pritam's last few albums are Dishoom, Dilwale, BB, Phantom etc. All terrible and not suited to Dangal at all.

The best we can hope for is that he can dig out another Barfi from somewhere.

So true but it's just not about Dangal. He was quoted saying, he does the same for his every movie i.e. writing notes as of course death is unpredictable.

He said,"I am always scared a film won't turn out the way we want. I stress over small things, like something in the schedule going for a toss. And I always have this worry, What if I die? What if I get injured really badly when the whole film is dependent on me?'
