Yeah it was so strange watching that scene when Alia is fighting off those guys and Shahid is sitting there all love struck 😆 YES I was very happy with that last scene. It would've been too cheesy if they were sitting on the beach together. I also liked that she lied about her name, not knowing her real name added to her character in a way.

Ah well it was not a big deal that she had no backstory. I would have loved some more screen time for her character though. The moment Kareena was stabbed I was like 😲 It was so sad because I was loving her and Sartaj together But it was important for her to die because it just made the last scene with Sartaj and his brother so much more impactful. You could really see that he had lost everything at that point.

Just back from Udta Punjab .Here is a film that has a great after taste and haunts you long after it is over .The film paints a very scary picture of modern Punjab and leaves you tongue tied at several points .

There is very interesting story running throughout its veins but truth be told I did not take to the film instantly .The execution is so unlike anything I have seen in Bollywood and it takes time to get hold of where the film is heading .It is in the second half a clear picture emerges and you are completely immersed in the narrative .

Surprisingly the film is not completely a dry affair .The humor that has been injected leaves you laugh out loud .The excessive use of cuss word seems justified .

My only complaint is several songs that have been placed should be deleted .They hinder the pace somewhat.

Shahid is on fire here with an explosive performance .He looks every bit like Tommy and his comic timing is fantastic.However how his character changed in the end is not entirely convincing .

Kareena is adorable .Her role is much bigger than expected and she lights up the screen with her sheer screen presence .What happened to her character in the end was devastating 😒.

Diljit grows on you .His chemistry with Kareena is fantastic.

Alia steals the show with a powerful act .One runs out of adjectives if asked to describe this performance .The tragedy her character goes through is heart breaking .Especially her expressions are simply out of this world .Her growth is tremendous .

Overall a film that shakes you completely with a story that has not been seen before Must watch..

I feel this movie is being effected by Ramadan too. I saw 6 o clock show in Ottawa --- That's a decent time to go watch a movie --- There wasn't plenty of audience. In the sense, I could only spot Punjabi families and couple Hindu families. When came out --- could feel the difference with the late night show; could spot decent audience outside.

I am hearing from people that shows in Toronto and Montreals full tho.

If first weekend is crossing 30 cr ---- could it comfortably cross 75? I doubt it's crossing 100cr cause of Sultan. lol

Brilliant film!! 👏 Completely lived up to the hype and then some. Story, screenplay, direction all top notch. Could've been a little tighter in editing but no big deal.
