Very sensible answers from Shahid. Though I wont completely agree that pay disparity on the basis of gender is non-existent in bw but to use the issue as a way to bring down other fellow actresses or to use it as a way to prove ur credibility like Kangana does is seriously sickening. I never heard actresses other than Kangana making W*F statements like i m the most paid actress blah blah.

It's totally ridiculous that he would completely dismiss the gender gap in Bollywood. And even more unbelievable that Saif and him are getting paid the same amount as Kangs! There's nothing "smart" about this statement' this is misogyny at its best! 😆

His words are sane on face value ... But reality is different. Second rung male actors get paid more than top rated heroines. And that is the truth.

People have pointed out examples above.

Katrina (no matter how bad an actor she is) is still more viable, still has more public draw than Aditya or Imran. But would get paid the same (and less in MBKD) .. This is discrimination

... When recruitment happened in our college, the boys got paid more than girls for the same role in the same company!

Pay Disparity is a reality.

Wrong choice of words by Kangana...but when did she ever care?

Could've just said my role is pivotal as the two heroes and she would've got her point across just as well, without irritating anyone. Anyway, as usual, press trying to make much out of NOTHING.

Shahid with his coming baby, Kangana with her ongoing case and films, hv better things to do.

I think he just gave his views on the matter just like he criticized Tanmay on his recent snapchat video just after Alia supported Tanmay. That doesn't mean he took a dig on Alia. Same goes for Kangy!!

Kanganas case is different, honestly, she and Vidya carried their films on their shoulders and hv a large part in the incredible money earned..

But please, most heroines hv 1/4 amount of screen space in their films, that means less work! Should those heroines also be paid same as the hero who works three times as much?

Hero is used for both male and female while heroine is used for only female. I remember reading review of Neerja where title of one review was 'a found tribute to a forgotten hero.' So? Big deal? '. Shahid Kapoor is king of passive agressive statements. I cannot believe people are calling his insecure whiny statement sensible & mature. Erm no it was not.

Why is he taking issues with a woman calling herself for what she is: a hero? Is it because it is a word society usually use for men like himself. & his statement about pay disparity shows how ignorant & clueless of his own privilege he actually is. 🤔

I even saw some articles praising him all over twitter!🥱
