I haven't compared drought to insensitive jokes here. I compared hate speeches and insensitive jokes made by politicians in comparison to a comedian's snapchat story . Who has a wider reach ? Who should be more responsible here?Who influences the society more here? Who are the ones taking offence to this joke here? You get my point ?
They do it themselves and then get offended when someone else is doing. We too will tolerate it as long as we don't get a easy target to start punching .. why ?
Lemme ask a question here again? Arresting one rapist is enough to educate the society or should every rapist be arrested and given the same punishment ? Arresting one person for insensitive joke is enough or should every person making those jokes and hate speeches will fall under the same punishment ?
Nirbhaya was common girl with no power or money to help her out. That is nowhere comparable to Lata and Sachin here. They weren't speaking for just Nirbhaya in that protest they were speaking for every girl. They were asking for stronger laws to punish rapists. She was just the symbol of that protest. I ask the same for the insensitive jokes. Why only for Lata and Sachin make it for every citizen for this country. Everyone deserves the same right here.
Raising awareness is one thing and filing cases is a different thing. Freedom of expression already has a lot of restrictions but people still get away with it. There is no set boundary over here that defines what is acceptable and what is not.
Appropriates measure can't be taken for special individuals only. It needs to be fair to all. If jokes offend people they might as well start a petition that demands government to ban it. Santa banta jokes are facing the same treatment. I find that appropriate measure than sending one comedian to jail.
Bharat Ratna is an award given to achievers. Nowhere it is said that those people become some kind of privileged class who will have higher priority over others. Its not written in the constitution so it cannot be applied .
religious sentiments belong to individuals and thats why they complain. Censor Board has received enough backlash for trying to be moral guardians for the citizens of this country and hence the Shyam Benegal committee. There is no law that allows such a thing. People just love to poke their noes in other people's business.
Anyways u think he should be jailed. I think he shouldn't. Its as simple as that . As far as condemning that stupid joke yes I do. Thats the only reaction I will have for stupid jokes in life. I m having a neckpain now so I will just leave 😆 It was nice talking to u . :)
