I agree with this. I get it's a personal choice. But it's a really young age to be a mom. Especially when you're still trying to grow and develop and find yourself. She seems extremely happy and content with life right NOW, but looking back I don't know if she'll have any regrets not being her own person. Since, she finished school, got married and now having a child and is only 22. But her life, her rules.

@Bold - You know there are girls who regrets not having kid early on too. Coz later on they have issues conceiving & during pregnancy as they age. I have recently seen a case very closely.

So regret she can have either way.

Btw, I think people are still stuck in flashback.
Mira is 23 now.

Will be 24 in September. Time will tell if she becomes a mother at 23 or 24. lol

Really? Didn't she finish her BA last year. Looks like she was the oldest one in her batch, if this is true. 😆

Storm..

I can understand where you are coming from. I am an average middle class. And I have seen both situations as you people are discussing. Just as you are shocked at Meera having kid at 22, there are people who would shocked at not having kid at age of 26-27. 😆

None of my friends were married till we finished masters. We were exactly like you. Shocked even if someone got engaged.

But at the same time, lot of my relatives, distant cousins were engaged during their college, and married after studies. They started their family early.

I would always feel sad for them. More saddened at the fact that their parents don't seem fit for them to be independent. But trust me, most of them are independent now.. working Moms. It is really up to you.

Now when I am at the age of 30, after meeting tons of girls, I just feel, priorities are different. Urban people have different idea of life, non-urban ones have different. It's really a choice at the end. There is nothing shocking.

Some girls have grew up in a way, where they find it's pretty normal to have kids early. And they do raise kids well too. I always judged these girls. Now I don't. Who are we? It's their life. If they feel it's right. Then it's right for them.

They shouldn't be judged, and the same way we shouldn't be judged too who can't think of kids early in their life.

PS -- This thread is extreme though. All Metro City perspective. Moreover ABCD perspective. You guys have no idea how majority of India thinks or lives. 😆 Clubbing might not be in 70% India's checklist if you may know. I have a joint family. But my parents are pretty cool. I have seen both orthodox & free atmosphere. I can tell. You are just thinking One-dimensional. There is a complete different world. 😛 😆

Yeah, I guess my shock stems from not knowing such people personally and well generally being averse to such early commitment and all...I am aware of course that this is happening in urban India too but its bloody not happened with any single person that I know😆 hence my uni-dimensional viewpoint.

Her Body, her choice. As long as she is not forced for anything.
She comes from a different economic strata, doubt she would have done the regular job ever.Might not be ambitious too, have met many who just want to be married early or have kids.

Just personally it's not for me. Also, courtship, marriage and now this..way too soon. But then their life as long as she is , "independent" in making her choices in every way. Good for her.

Also, don't think she would go for a career or something post this. Nope. Unless, she starts her own fashion range or interior designer thing.

I can't say. I don't know about her completing her education last year. She must be busy with graduation and wedding if true. 😆

But yeah, her birthday was in September... Most celebrated it as 23, not 22 I remember. 🤓

Like I said, her life and her choice. Just throwing out how I personally would feel. But I find 22/23 quite young in this era and probs cuz I don't see happening as much around me.
