What nonsense, who cares if he keeps by his child-bride's side or not.

It's just highly disturbing for some reason that a child is having a child. :/

Trust me its a very big deal in urban India especially considering the strata of society to which she belongs that is middle to upper middle class. There is no one and I mean literally no one that I have ever come across in my entire graduate and post grad college life who was married. As a matter of fact even after our post grads, most of my friends would express surprise if one of our classmates got married soon, before 25 even. I find it shocking cause the environment in which I have grown up, be it family or friends or social circle, no one gets married so soon forget having a child at this age.

Hence its a big deal cause I have no personal exposure to this phenomenon of early marriage and child and someone who belongs to the same milieu as me doing this shocks me.

In my personal opinion 21-22 are the years when a woman finishes their college, starts their job, starts enjoying their life or recently 'earned' freedom. Most young urban women doesn't marry at the age of 22 forget about having a baby. So it comes as a little surprise when a celebrity or a wife of celebrity decides to have baby at this tender age that too soon after having an arrange marriage..It takes at least some time to know the other person well enough before the thought of bearing the child should come.

I am saying all this because Mira doesn't look like helpless, oppress girl whose voices are not heard. or may be she is. who knows !! But then again its their life and their decision. We can only express our views

I agree with this. I get it's a personal choice. But it's a really young age to be a mom. Especially when you're still trying to grow and develop and find yourself. She seems extremely happy and content with life right NOW, but looking back I don't know if she'll have any regrets not being her own person. Since, she finished school, got married and now having a child and is only 22. But her life, her rules.

As I said I came from Paki society.as there's no gf/bf culture.so ppl get marry at early age
Though 18 is the legal age here too. But my friends or besties or me got married ,finished education and even doing jobs.so for me its disturbing to read child bride or child having child at age of 22.

What unnecessary hatred.
If this article was about some other famous actor of IF, would have imagined the comments. 😆

The article talks about one thing ... but people started bashing the movie instead. What insecurity. 😆

BTW, movie is not banned. Read Kayshap's tweets.

This article seems to be a mixture of - the fact that Shahid spent the weekend at the hospital ... The article is kinda true, but wrong movie's coming in to play.

But that is it right, our opinions are framed by our experiences and our social surroundings. This is fine for you but it leaves nothing but a bad taste in my mouth when I remember their age gap and this early marriage cum pregnancy. So its subjective...does not mean your opinion is wrong and mine is right...its just different.

Everyone has a will I know. If someone wants to be mother at 22, I think they have the right to choose. Still, I cannot imagine being a mother at 22. You are just starting out life. I feel 20s are for exploring and finding yourself, esp. finding your identity. It's a phase where you go clubbing with your friends, carve your path towards being independent, travel, and just enjoy life b/c this age never comes again.I am in my early 20s,and I don't see doing see myself having kind until early 30s. Mira is 22 and young. She has so much ahead of her. She has the resource to take care of a child, but still kind of scary I think.

Though even I was first shocked to find Mira pregnant at 23 ... I mean even I can't imagine someone being pregnant/married even at that age ... but isn't it weird ... Why is it ... that woman is 'adult' enough to get married and have sex but not adult enough to have a baby? Wouldn't she be 24 by the time she has a baby? That's how it used to be before 21st century.

It's not like they wanted to be parents at an early age ... who knows ... Maybe they did ... maybe the pills didn't kick in or the condom broke ... In the end, a child's a blessing/gift from the God. Time to deal with.
