HAHK is the biggest hit. And if we calculate inflation its the biggest hit ever. It would topple every movie in overseas also if that is also been added to inflation.

Ans. No. A 20 crore plus shortfall can't be made up. HAHK is ahead in all the circuits even Mumbai where DDLJ has had longer run.

Box Office India said, "Not only did Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! smash all records but took business for films released afterwards to another level. To put into perspective how business changed ... before Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! an all India share of 10 crore for a big film was regarded as blockbuster business but after Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! the blockbuster business figure went to 20 crore.

I checked the post date once again before replying, I thought this is from last year.. because this is ONE comparison jo har saal aa jata hai whereas the movies are 20 yr old 🤔

HANK was bigger hit..generated extraordinary hype across sections of people in India

DDLJ was iconic too but more amongst NRIs and youngsters

But there is no doubt DDLJ is more iconic and is more famous in pop culture.

Although just like every SRK-Sallu comparison thread, we will see stupid posts from both side of famdom.

DDLJ got more popularity after it completed some years in Maratha Mandir.

HAHK was a culture. After 'Jai Santoshi Maa', it was 2nd movie to create such a craze across every generation. And it was more money spinner since it wasn't really that expensive film. Also, it broke Jai Santoshi Maa's footfall records or something.

According to me, KKHH was more popular than DDLJ. KKHH also became culture like HAHK after release.
