Actress Zareen Khan is roped in for director Sai Kabir's upcoming film Divine Lovers. The film stars an internationally acclaimed Indian actor Irrfan Khan. The film was initially offered to Kangana Ranaut.

Confirming the news, Kabir said in a statement: "Yes it is true. She (Zareen) fit the bill perfectly as we wanted a girl with Pathani looks."

Kangana was looking forward to start shoot with Irrfan but somehow the dates never matched and the film couldn't take off.

Zareen, who was last seen on screen in Vishal Pandya's Hate Story 3, will undergo two months of training which will be overseen by Irrfan himself.

The film is an adventure comedy and the shoot starts in September. Divine Lovers revolves round the lower middle-class section of society and is set in the heartland of India.

yet another he-said she-said for Kangana. She is said to have backed out. The director declined to comment on why she wasn't doing it, but confirmed she wasn't and they were casting a new girl better suited for the role. (The phrasing made me think she didn't choose to leave but he didn't say explicitly say that). Then today that turned out to be ZK so that was strange...

Kangna has been out of this project for almost a year as her dates didn't match the schedule. If there hadn't been any delay she might have been able to do it but then it overlapped with Rangoon.
