Ranveer-Deepika almost confirmed for SLB's padmavati

Earlier, we had reported that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be treading once again into the path of a period drama with the epic saga of a beautiful queen named Rani Padmini or rather Padmavati. From what we hear, Bhansali's blue eyed girl Deepika Padukone will be seen in the titular role of Padmavati in this drama.

However, an official announcement on the same is awaited. Sources claim that the date issues are proving to be a hindrance. Deepika Padukone is yet to sort out her dates to wrap up the film on time. On the other hand, the makers are finding it difficult to work it out since the release date of the film has been locked, which is mid December 2017. It is being said that the actress is keen on signing the film and once the date issue is sorted, the actress has agreed to immediately join the team.

Based on the obsessive lover of Padmavati, Allaudin Khilji, the film traces the journey of a loyal yet beautiful queen who decides to end her life after her husband Ratan Singh gets defeated in a war waged by Allaudin over his obsession to gain the love of Rani Padmini. Speculations have it that the film will also star Ranveer Singh but the character he will be playing is yet to be revealed. Padmavati is slated to release on December 15, 2017.
