Karan Johar approaches Salman Khan for Shuddhi, again?

Much has been said about the fate of Karan Johar's troubled project, Shuddhi. First it was in the news for its changing star cast and then the uncertainty over its filming. There was a strong buzz that the project would be shelved.

During a press conference organised to celebrate the success of Kapoor and Sons, Karan called off the event midway when questions were raised about the possibility of Shuddhi being shelved. But looks like the speculation can be laid to rest now as the team has begun pre-production work on the film and singers Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghoshal have already recorded a number for the film, composed by Ajay Atul. "I have sung a song for Shuddhi with Shreya Ghoshal. It is a peppy, melodious song," Udit said at an event.

As for the cast, Varun and Alia had been named as the lead couple, but according to reports, Salman has been approached for it for the second time. The actor had earlier joked about how Karan was working on a tight budget and hence couldn't afford to have the star on board, but from what we hear Karan has approached Salman again. Whether or not it is an offer he can't refuse, is something we're yet to find out.
