I really want to know the justification given by Akshay for accepting Canadian citizenship and renouncing his Indian citizenship especially when you have been going on and on about the greatness of your homeland.

Aamir was heavily criticised for just saying that he contemplated leaving India, Akshay has already in a sense left India, he is not an Indian national period. He may think and feel Indian but he is a Canadian.

@Flipflop - Alia and Imran weren't born in India so its understandable. Silly of me to bring this in but Deepika was born in Copenhagen yet is an Indian citizen, so it goes both ways. And this is in a sense a matter of love and pride according to me. My identity begins and ends as an Indian, call me a nationalist or whatever IDGAF, but unless there are some really unavoidable circumstances I will never ever give up my citizenship. So for Akki to do this and then give out this image of being a loyal, proud, patriotic, Indian citizen is abhorrent to me personally as he is a hypocrite of the highest order.

People in India are using "Bhakat, Indian, Nationalism, Bharat Mata ki Jai, I love India" in a mocking manner just to show how 'JNUish' type they are. Anyone talking good about India becomes a Bhakat. Anyone saying Bharat Mata ki Jai becomes a Bhakat- in turn a BJP supporter, non-secularist, communalist, Modi-fan etc. etc.

OT : An Canadian passport definitely is better than Indian , just cos these actors travel so much and they can enter without visa as tourists. And ofcourse it doesn't mean that everyone who isn't a citizen of India is anti nationalist.Since these actors are top 1% of India, living a life of luxury, enjoying Indian resources like police security everywhere they go so it does seem hypocritical to give up their citizenship. But then again if he pays all his tax in India and Canada,why should we care.
