The thing with Twitter is that it's not just a place to voice opinion but also the place to face its repercussions. And the latest target of Twitter trolls is actress Dia Mirza, whose recent tweet seems to have met with heavy criticism. The actress took to Twitter to promote the 'save water' cause, with Holi just around the corner.

Mirza tweeted, "The irony of the times we live in: farmers commit suicide due to drought and people waste water to 'play' #Holi.Go ahead call me anti-Hindu."

Contrary to Dia's prediction of "anti-Hindu" remarks coming her way, the actress was instead trolled for being a hypocrite with trolls reminding her that she had been issued a legal notice by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board for not paying water taxes of Rs 2.26 lakh. Some even went on to point out that a lot of water was wasted in filming fake rains in her 2004 film, 'Tumsa Nahi Dekha'.

never saw any celebs tweeting about it.

no one should question some one's beliefs

point here is regarding water wastage..a more universal issue..not religious

and dia can speak but so can others who are calling her out on her hypocrisy

are you really drawing a parallel?

so i can also butt in and say..it is a bit insensitive to burn a dead body..why not put it in a coffin?

dude please..if we start questioning these things we will literally show no humanity

water usage is a different issue..to justify or make that appear okay..don't bring in religion and what happens in various religions

i have no issue if u think its insensitive to burn a dead body.
its ur opinion and u have every right to say it.
as long as people are having healthy debate i dont think its wrong.
i myself have issue with people wasting too much water. and i am hindu.
