Was eagerly looking forward to the film because I liked director's last film Ek Main Aur Ek Tu and really liked the trailer of this film.

Loved the film and will watch it again for those terrific ensemble family sequences, the one in second half where they all break up was just wow 👏

The film should do extremely well in multiplexes.

Kapoor And Sons is the movie written jointly by Shakun Batra and Ayesha Devitre Dhillon, directed by Shakun Batra. The movie stars Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak, Rajat Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan, and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The movie is now in theatres and lets see what this Kapoor and his sons has to do in this weekend.

The movie is a complete family entertainer movie. Rahul and Arjun are the two sons of Kapoor played by Fawad Khan and Sidharth Malhotra. Rahul is a successfull writer while Arjun struggles to stick for a good job. Their parents role were played by Rajat Kapoor and Ratha Pathak Shah and grandpa is played by Rishi Kapoor. Rahul and Arjun is staying outside with their job. One day grandpa is hospitalised and these two grans childs rush to their home to see grandpa. When these gangs unites together we see many problems they are facing. Alia Bhatt is playing the role of Tia who someways help to resolve the family problems. Thus goes the story with lots of fun, emotions and fights.

Rishi Kapoor with his comic part makes everyon laugh out loudly. Fawad Khan steals the show with just his presence, surprising the audience with every scene. Sidharth Malhotra has done a decent job in the movie. He is getting improved in his every new movie. Alia Bhatt was georgeous and her part was decently played. Ratna Pathak Shah delivers a heart-wrenching performance as the mother. Rajat Kapoor was also in a high notch with his performance.

The movie is fantastic and fabulous one. A great hats off to the director Shakun Batra. He has done a great job with a good plot and every nice point of life in the movie. The movie is best in its direction, story, editing and cinematography. The songs and backgorund score of the movie was also good.

Final words on movie is speechless. We feel like that we have taken a deep breath of fresh air with full of emotions and enjoyment. Dont wait to think twice, just book your tickets now and enjoy the movie in theatres.

Fawad Khan, take a bow you are a SUPERSTAR!

Fawad Khan is definitely one of the most promising talents in Bollywood.

Kapoor & Sons released today and after watching the first day first show of the film I must say that if you are a sucker for good performances then do watch it...

Fawad Khan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra starrer Kapoor & Sons finally hit the theatres today. While buzz around the real life couple coming together on reel yet again after their debut film was sky high the excitement about the return of Pakistani heartthrob on silver screen was also there.

Now that the movie is out, it can be easily said that Fawad Khan is the real STAR of this film. And it's not his sexy looks, the actor showers you with a gamut of emotions and expressions that will leave you overwhelmed. Trust me I'm not exaggerating one bit when I say Fawad is a true SUPERSTAR!

The man manages to make you forget his almost perfect boyish looks and take you in his stride with his acting brilliance. You ogle at him when he's looking oh-so-HOT, get smitten by his mysterious act, bowled by his maturity and ultimately empathise with him. Fawad Khan manages to make you live his character. While Shakun Bhatra, who helmed the film deserves all the praise for dealing with sensitive human emotions and feelings in Kapoor & Sons, we bet the movie would fall flat had Fawad not convincingly played his part.

Fawad, you have managed to make us go beyond your good looks. Especially after watching this film we can definitely say that Bollywood needs more talent like you. By accepting this role you did not just dive into a character, you picked a role that most today's stars would shy away from. Keeping in mind that Fawad has a huge chunk of female fans and a pretty conservative lot, the actor taking up this role proves that he loves challenges. Fawad Khan is not SCARED. He is bold and beautiful and we love that about him. His CHOICE is not safe and he or his character is not sorry and that is what we loved the most.

Unfortunately today we have a handful of actors take up roles that are unconventional and different. Actors do experiment, but they do not cross the so-called line that is drawn by expectations put upon them and their star value. For Fawad to pick a role like that too in his second movie is commendable. Khan has been choosy about his Bollywood project, but when he takes it up seems like the actor goes straight for the kill. He's daringly different and it's an absolute delight. Fawad Khan take a bow, not just for the amazing performance in Kapoor & Sons, but for the being an unusual KHAN!

Watched the movie today and I liked it!! The movie strangely is not much like what I or most of us have been expecting. It's different and totally family-centric. So people who feel a lot for their families will probably connect to it more.

First talking about the good part. First of all, all the actors(minus Alia) have done a terrific job. Including Sid who is at his natural best. Fawad is amazing and has such a manly persona. Not just he looks great but acts pretty well. I really wish this was his first bw film. Apart from the lead heroes, Rishi Kapoor and Rajat have done their part well. But that one person who shines in the whole film is Ratna Pathak. The lady is so graceful and real you can almost feel its your mom who has reached that screen. Ratna has given a terrific performance. The movie very surprisingly shows least bromance b/w Fawad and Sid. Nor does it become preachy at any moment. And its not even feel good. Rather it compiles the real moments that happen b/w siblings and family. We are happy sometimes and totally at conflict at others. And thats the way how our relationship and bonding with different family members evolve. And this is exactly what the movie focuses on. The pre climax scenes where the family goes through emotional turmoil are BEAUTIFULLL!!! And Sid, Fawad and Ratna have nailed them. Those few minutes I couldn't stop being teary.

Now the bad - Well the things thats worst is this movie in no way takes any benefit of Alia's screen presence or acting. It seems no attention is given to her styling or her character. In most of the scenes you see her in alow quality spaghetti and a shrug with shorts. Her styling is very bad and she has no role which sadly makes the Sid-Alia love story falter too. You dont understand why they love each other. Apart from that the movie could have had better scenes...the plot points are strong but scenes are not that powerful. Only the performances make them look nice.

All in all this movie is mainly about the bond of two sons with their parents. I wont be wrong if I say Ratna Pathak is the hero of the film.
And yes its not a romcom so not all will like it.

5 things that totally WORKED in the favour of Fawad Khan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra's Kapoor & Sons!2016 is truly great for a movie lover like me, especially the ones who still trusts Bollywood to produce some quality other than the regular inspired-from Hollywood factory products. Three months and

We tell you why Kapoor & Sons should be your movie for the weekend...and maybe the next as well!

2016 is truly great for a movie lover like me, especially the ones who still trusts Bollywood to produce some quality other than the regular inspired-from Hollywood factory products. Three months and I got to see three great movies! While January was completely about Akshay Kumar'sAirlift, February brought in one of the best movies in recent times in Neerja and finally, in March, I watched Kapoor & Sons!

These three movies are enough for me to forgive and forget anomalies like Mastizaade and Kyaa Kool Hai Hum 3 that also released this year! Now coming back to Kapoor & Sons, let me tell this at the onset itself - the film is not any pathbreaking cinema. You won't find any new ideas, plot devices or a earth-shattering twists. Sure, there is a thread in the film that explores alternate sexuality, but we did have films that have handled this subject before. If the film is not ground-breaking in any way, then why are we recommending it?

Simple, because you don't need a novel subject to tell a beautiful story, all you need is an engaging screenplay and some relatable situations, backed with some fantastic performances to make a good film!

Here are five reasons why Kapoor & Sons worked for us:

The family drama is so relatable

kapoor-pic-5

Sure, the Kapoor family is dysfunctional at its worst, and your family may not at all be like that! But the problems they had (sibling rivalry, parents choosing one kid over the other etc. ) as well as the sweeter moments are something you will totally relate to! After two huge fights, when the family comes together with their extended members for that one night of merriment, you will laugh and wipe tears at the same time. Even that scene where the parents, who have been fighting all along, spends that same night lying on the bed and reflecting back as to what went wrongs, is so subtly nuanced and terrific. Of course, like in real life, worries are just round the corner!

Alia Bhatt, Sidharth and Fawad's easy camaraderie

kapoor-pic-2

Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt have already done a film together (Student of the Year), and they are rumoured to be a couple, so definitely we can see that easy-going chemistry between these two. But both of them also have an equally amiable chemistry with Fawad as well. Though Alia Bhatt basically has a supporting role in the film, her scenes with both Sid and Fawad are like bright rays of sun, peeking through a dark grey cloudy sky!

Everyone in the cast is brilliant!

kapoor-pic-1

Very rarely do we see films where every actor pitch in admirable performances. Sidharth Malhotra is moving from strength to strength and he is really likeable as the younger, brasher son. I am sure every younger sibling would relate to his character. Alia Bhatt may be having the least substantial role, yet she is a bright spark in the movie, especially in the scene where she breaks down and reveal to Sid how she lost her parents. Rishi Kapoor may be bogged down by slightly fake prosthetics, but provides some of the best humorous moments of the film. The parents played by Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak Shah are so good and so real-life, that we pray that our parents don't fight like them. Even the lesser players like the guy who play Sid's friends are natural. But the real star of the film is...

Fawad Khan is LEGEN...Wait for it...DARY!

kapoor-pic-4

Before I went for Kapoor & Sons, I had no idea what the fuss about Fawad was all about. I mean I liked his performance in his debut Khuda Kay Liye, missed his Pakistani soaps (which my sister reminds me every now and then...that he is totally awesome in!) and was okay in Sonam Kapoor's Khoobsurat. But here, he is given some real meat in his role, and he totally sinks his teeth in it! And damn! The man is awesome! His every gesture, every expression is so spot on. Be it his emotional outbursts or the quieter scenes or the one where he basically has to smile, the man nail it perfectly! Bro, you got one more fan!

How Shakun handled some very strong (and a taboo topic) scenes deftly

kapoor-pic-3

If Fawad Khan is the star then Shauk Batra is the hero of the film. The way he handled a not-so-new story and gave it such an engaging spin needs to be lauded. The three scenes where we can see his genius at its best is here 1. The family's first fight in the film, where the parents start fighting first, and soon the children get involved. 2. When the family gets together and spend a night talking their hearts out, and 3. When the skeletons all came out together at the same time! He also brought in much enough sensitivity into handling the subject of alternate sexuality, without making the viewers uncomfortable, while subtly questioning our own hypocrisy towards the topic! Shakun, desperately waiting for your third now...
