Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't he sentenced to 5 years in Jail - So he spent 3.5 years total in Jail over a period of 2 decades. Compared to that a common man will spend more than that amount waiting for his case to be heard and that too at one shot not spread over 20 years.

he got remission for good behavior but u r rite about the common man thing but that's juts the way it is, blame the system not him. if he has power and money he will use it just like everybody else.

I agree, the law should be the same for everyone but its not.

Sanjay Dutt did his time & i guess he learned a lot in solitary. Good for him, now he is free to live life without fear again. He is blessed & lucky he has job waiting for him & loving family & MONEY. I bet he will not waste this last chance.

biopic will come next yr and next munna bhai will come in 2020 so that's a long way ahead but he will do some other movie in mean time.

yeah, that's what I don't get, if he has served his jail term than what else do u want? let the man be.

and also he hasn't committed any other crimes in these 20+ yrs. that one incident one crime and he paid for it big time, holding it against him and calling him terrorist and all that shit, is uncalled for

"You don't get the opportunity to play such fictional characters every day. Plus, I have done the film for a friend, who has attempted to make a good film for children, which also teaches you something. Adventure is important in the film. You have to grip the children, make them enjoy the film," said Jimmy

Bollywood actor Jimmy Sheirgill said that he eagerly wants the third instalment of the Munnabhai film series to be made.

"Definitely, I am hoping that the film is made. And I'll hope that my role is a different one because I was the only character who was Zaheer in the first part and was Victor in the second one. So, let's see what is there in store this time," said Jimmy.

The director of the franchise, Rajkumar Hirani, has confirmed that the third part will be made, which he intends to proceed with, after Sanjay's release from prison on February 25.

"I'm very happy. Sanju baba is coming back. We have done numerous films together. We have shared some great moments together and I feel that finally everything will be fine. He'll begin a new life and he has always been a fighter. And I feel that this time, too, he'll do something new," Jimmy said.

Jimmy will soon be seen in Shortcut Safaari. About his role, he said, "My character is one who perhaps shows these children some way or takes away something from them, which you'll see in the film. The character is in the jungle, perhaps for several years, cut off from the outside world. He has set up his own world."

"It's a very emotional day for us. I wish my father was alive to see this day. It would have been the happiest day for him. I am yet to meet him. We are just waiting for him at home," said Sanjay Dutt's sister Priya Dutt

Sanjay Dutt's sister Priya Dutt said that it is an emotional day for the family and revealed that they have planned a special welcome for the actor, who has been released from Yerwada prison on February 25. She also wished that her father late actor Sunil Dutt was alive to witness this day.

"There are no such plans (of celebration). My husband has decorated the building gate and has put up a poster welcoming him home. My kids have made cards for him. We will just sit and chat," Priya told PTI.

"It's a very emotional day for us. I wish my father was alive to see this day. It would have been the happiest day for him. I am yet to meet him (Sanjay Dutt). We are just waiting for him at home," said the former MP.

"It's been 23 years. He and we all have gone through many ups and downs. We have struggled a lot," Priya said.

Mr Dutt, 56, was arrested in April 1993 for possession and destruction of an AK-56 rifle, which was a part of cache of arms and explosives that was part of the consignment used in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts.

In 2013, the Supreme Court upheld his conviction by a special court in Mumbai for possession of arms and ammunitions, but reduced the sentence to five years, following which he surrendered to serve the remainder of his sentence.
