Old photos, like old diary posts, can be embarrassing sometimes, especially for celebrities. Some of the old photos of stars that do rounds on the internet show their run-of-the-mill past, reminding us that they too once had a normal past, like most of us; the awkwardness related to such pics will be directly proportional to the degree of transformation.
Howbeit, there are some stars who can be regarded perennial beauties, like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Ash used to be quite famous even before she became a beauty queen. She was the face of big brands like Lakme, Pepsi, Palmolive, Titan, Garden Vareli, etc., before she decided to participate in the Femina Miss India contest in 1994. For that reason alone, Aishwarya was touted as the favourite to win the title that year, but a little-known Sushmita Sen bested her, shocking everyone.
Sushmita sealed her win after a nail-biting finish in the final Q&A round; the 18-year-old Bengali beauty then went on to win the Miss Universe title as well.
Aishwarya's agony didn't last long, for she too followed suit and won the Miss World title in November the same year. She soon segued into Bollywood, and the rest is history.
