I logged in after ages today to comment on this topic ... I can imagine this lady having a moment if jealousy on seeing such a moving tribute being given to a colleague while she was no where mentioned... she should have left it at just that ... There was no need to publicly discredit such a braveheart ... There's a saying .. Never speak ill of the dead ... So in my opinion she should have avoided airing her views ... Out of respect to neerja and even to her family ... Who have all along put on such a brave front despite losing the apple of their eyes !!!!

Also if in this lady's opinion she was all that heroic (I am not going to mention her other colleagues who I am sure must be cringing at her shameful behaviour) then she should take pride in the fact that she did her duty well and maybe even today people in different parts of the world remember her each day in their prayers and thank her for her efforts ... Who does she want to come and announce and sing praises of her bravery !!!

This lady would be well in her mid 50s by now and it's really shameful to see someone that mature (ostensively) in age behave like such a juvenile ... It's unfortunate when people suffer from the me too syndrome ... She's crying for her share of credit after all these years over a bolly wood movie ... Would she have reacted in the same way had the hijackers during the entire seize ask for a volunteer to be martyred ... Would she have had the guts to stand up and willingly give up her life to save everyone else's ... It's really easy to cry foul later on wanting your share if attention but very difficult to give up your life in the line of duty ... Hang your head in shame lady since you have asked for something which was never yours !!!!

Someone PM the TM to change the topic title. It is very misleading now that we know she wasn't Neerja Bhanots colleague.

Exactly.

For people who are saying Nupoor wasn't there on the flight.. Nupoor Abrol is the first name on the list.. this whole thing is so sad and disheartening..

Flight Crew of Hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 Honored at 2006 National Crime Victim's Rights Ceremony

Washington, D.C. - April 28, 2006: Crowell & Moring LLP would like to recognize 13 of the firm's Pan Am Flight 73 victims of terrorism clients who were presented the Special Courage Award by Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales during the National Crime Victims' Rights Week Awards Ceremony on April 21, 2006. The victims were recognized for their extraordinary bravery during the September 5, 1986 terrorist hijacking of Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi, Pakistan. The Pan Am 73 terrorist attack killed 20 passengers and crew and severely injured more than 100 of the 380 persons on board.

The 13 Crowell & Moring flight attendant clients honored include:

  • Nupoor Abrol
  • Madhvi Bahuguna
  • Neerja Bhanot (Ms. Bhanot lost her life in the hijacking while saving numerous passengers and children)
  • Dilip Bidichandani
  • Cecilia Da Silva
  • Samira Goode
  • Astrid Lobo
  • Lillian Nazareth
  • Mary Anne Nigli
  • Sherene Pavan
  • Ranee Vaswani
  • Sunshine Vesuwala
  • Louella Walker

The Special Courage Award recognizes an individual or individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary bravery in the aftermath of crime or who have performed a courageous act on behalf of a victim or potential victim. The award may honor a victim or survivor who has exhibited exceptional perseverance or determination in dealing with his or her own victimization or it may acknowledge an individual who has acted bravely either to aid a victim or to prevent a victimization.

"Given the Department's priority of preventing another terrorist attack, I must say a few words about the flight crew of hijacked Pan Am flight 73 and the Pan Am director on the ground in Pakistan. Their calm determination 20 years ago showed the world the difference between humanity and barbarism. I thank so many of them for coming from half the world away to be with us," stated Attorney General Gonzales in his prepared remarks at the ceremony.

On April 5, 2006, Crowell & Moring LLP filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, on behalf of one hundred seventy-six passengers, estates, and family members who were victims of the September 5, 1986 terrorist hijacking of Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi, Pakistan, against Libya and the individuals convicted of launching the attack.

I think no one knows exactly what happened inside the flight and who showed bravery at which level...coz it was a huge flight and a lot must have been happening at different sections
from the other flight attendant POV, maybe she felt that the names she mentioned did a lot more and were more deserving ...

think about it, you finally see the movie based on a real life hijack in which you were actually a part of , then you see that some of the facts ( in ur opinion) are not presented truthfully or did not actually happen the way it was shown in the movie) , then you are bound to get displeased about it.

I am not going to disregard Nupur's POV just because she said something which she felt ...and which to the majority looks unfair coz of what they have seen in the movie and also that Neerja isn't alive...

until we make them all sit and talk on exactly what happened inside that flight, no one knows , its all based on different POV

@bold.. I really really hope someone makes this happen. I am sure each and everyone on that flight has a story to tell. They all showed incredible courage while doing their duty taking care of the passengers.

It's disgusting to read what producer of Neerja, Atul Kasbekar said.. not only they robbed other crew members of their deserving adulation but now they are completely denying their existence 👎🏼 These are the people who were fighting on that plane alongside their hero Neerja.. shame on the makers for doing this 🤢

Actually the producer and the team of Neerja didn't do proper research on others inside the flight but it's really surprising to see the producer saying nupoor was not in the flight at all.😲
Why will Nupoor Abrol write such a big lie if she was not there in the flight?I think she deleted that post because sonam fans on fb might have bashed her left and right.😆
