She's got the looks but sorry she cant act. Both she and ARK have dead pan acting skills . They tend to put the audience to sleep.

Difference is they were screening BV in nearby multiplex even after its release but fr fitoor they have alloted only one show lol 😆

Right at the time when the promo of Fitoor had arrived, it was quite apparent that the film was aimed for the niche audience. No wonder, it didn't come as a surprise when the makers [UTV] decided to give it a relatively small release at select theaters. However, what further worked against the film was lack of excitement quotient that was built around it right till the day of release. There was just no buzz or hype and Katrina Kaif - the biggest star of the enterprise - was being talked about for every reason other than Fitoor.

One wonders whether the makers could have at least done something to divert media and audience attention towards the film so that at least some awareness would have come around the core content. However, none of that happened as a result the film suffered big time, what with a mere 13 crore* coming the film's way.

Now these are simply terrible numbers and compares with some of the biggest flops/disasters (featuring at least one major star) that Bollywood has ever seen. Here the opening weekend collections of these films. Of course, the gold standard of disasters stays on asRGV Ki Aag and in the current scenario where big films do manage collections of some sorts at the least, hopefully this number won't be beaten ever.

RGV Ki Aag - 5.5 crore

Drona - 8 crore

Tezz - 11.25 crore

Fitoor - 13 crore*

Happy Ending - 13 crore

Guzaarish - 13.78 crore

Players - 15.05 crore

Joker - 15.75 crore

Bombay Velvet - 16.2 crore

Raavan - 16.97 crore

well, I want joginder tuteja to only answer me one question -

what made Lootera the box office disaster it was ?

I will answer myself.

It was a risk Abhishek took which didnt pay off - simple. Like AskJeeves. and all the dotcom bubbles which burst when the internet first was introduced.

Like the 100 new products that get introduced for consumers every month..people get an idea, they take risks making it happen. some take off, some dont.

but what a beautiful risk...

i would watch the film again and again...for the scenes which were executed..they didnt come together properly, but no one can doubt Abhishek is a bad director.

we all underrated PC back in 2009-10 and felt she will fade in another 2,3 years..she also made less consistent BO than kat back then

but today PC with her talent..variety..risks..is ruling not only india but the west too and katrina..the BO queen is now a declining star

that the people here cant stop talking about THE Katrinas flop shows how much her standing is and how shocked they are...

the fly in the ointment is that katrina didnt act in a trashy film...Phantom and fitoor both were films made by very admired directors but the films didnt click because for whatever reasons they strayed from the norm...the film might hv bombed but it was a film which those who took the trouble to go see ignoring the naysayers who critiqued the film in the beginning (standard 7 writers and critics) actually found the film good with bad parts in between. and katrinas acting was praised too...this has made some anti kat members so incensed, theyre actually saying they gonna unfollow those who said they liked Fitoor!!!

Ive never seen the likes of it. maybe it happens on a SRK Salman war thread...but a heroine generating that amount of emotion 👏

I read somewhere Sanam Re is on its way to being BB. But i dont see even one thread about this potential BB and its stars😆

same how srk was bashed for dilwale
heck even sonam was bashed for PRDP not making more than 200..many including me said it would have had the actress been bigger..

so i doubt there is any hypocrisy happening here

I find it stupid in the extreme to credit any one actor for a hit. MBKD brought in audiences in the beginning perhaps because kat was at the height of her fame then and it was a feel good film with good music...and a YRF product to boot. But the film must hv entertained on some level for the audience to keep coming in.

To say katrina was the reason Fitoor flopped is like ...saying the American economy bombed because Obama got elected😕
