Actually I would have said OMG and Udaan, but in both cases, people whose taste in movies is similar to mine said they liked them, so I wasn't surprised that I liked them too.
Its really not about the movie itself, but the expectations you bring to it, isn't it?
Yes, of course. That's the reason why not many films post 2010 have been unexpectedly good for me. . The WOM spreads like fire. 😆 Some of the movies do exceed my expectations but then I have a vague idea of what to expect even before entering the theater.

@kabeeraspeaking : Interesting point about expectations regarding commercial and off beat movies. I personally find Commercial movies to be more appealing/entertaining. I sat through so many flop and panned commercial flicks and still got entertained. So somewhere, I kinda expect to be entertained with these movies, at least till one extent. Then if they surpass my expectations, its definitely sone pe suhaaga which makes me very happy. 😆
With off beat movies, it's a little different. Have preconceived notions before watching them. (Except for the work of a few directors whose films I'm used to watching anyway) What if it's pretentious, what if it's boring, don't think it'll live up to the hype etc..etc..I think that's the biggest challenge of small off beat films in general, they need to stand tall against all such notions and prove themselves that they are worth spending our money on.
