After witnessing the fiasco Dilwale turned out to be plus the consistent unsuccessful attempts in the last few years, sad is an understatement IMO 😆

Don't talk about few years...
In a few years your [Mr, Khan] is gonna have another of his dry runs (in more ways than one) & just when he would be down in the dumps BAM!! SC will pronounce his Criminal @$$ guilty...Then the Humpty Dumpty with his man b@@bs will have to spend his budhapa in Jail...So yeah...Reserve your sadness till then!!!

The battle of Dilwale vs. BM was more like Srk vs. Dp
No matter how people don't understand it. SRK is a huge star and he's movies are always part of the highest grosser. Of course Salman's movie is running first but have you guys realized it's either aamir, srk or sallu that has been running this number 1 game for over 25 years now? they made history and still going strong

You REALLY don't know your stuff do you. "pretty much folded by '74"? Nope.
1975's Prem Kahani was a super hit.
1976's Maha Chor was a box office hit. Mehbooba with Hema Malini also did well due to the soundtrack.
1977's Chhalia Babu was the 5th highest grosser of the year. Anurodh was also in the Top 10 of the year. Karm with Shabana Azmi was also a bonafide hit.
1978's Chakravyuha with Neetu Singh had a golden jubilee. His double role in Bhola Bhala with Rekha was appreciated although not a big hit.
1979's Amar Deep was a major success along with Prem Bandhan with Rekha once again.
Even in the early-mid 80s he had continued success and was nominated several more times.

Offensive Much???
Mehbooba didn't do too well...Infact 75 onwards was all about rise of AB & fall of RK...His romantic movies weren't doing too well...Amar deep, Prem Bandhan???? Really???
Appreciated?/Really?? If that was the benchmark then NS would heve been a superstar...Rajesh khanna had a fall in stardom from Mid-seventies...Even his price took a hit...
"Between 1976 and 1978, Khanna acted in 5 box office hits and in nine films that were not commercially successful. " wikipedia
Infact in '83 he had 3 hits which resurrected him..but it was too late by then..He started working in HORRIBLE southern remakes w/ Sridevi & Jaya Prada ..These movies were bad, vulgur & unsuccessful! There is a reason why he isn't considered iconic now ..Lost a lot of stature..

He's not the most successful, but he's the most consistent of all actors from today's generation.

First of all, by not emboldening a film each from 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985 and 1988, you are inadvertently admitting that indeed AB did have significant hits throughout the 80s. Kinda embarrassing😆
Shaan was the 5th highest grosser of 1980 - it was expected to match Sholay by the same team, and that's the only reason why it was seen as disappointing. However, because it released in December of 1980, it went on to do business in early 1981 which actually made it crossing the total of the biggest hit of '80.
Naseeb was the 2nd highest grosser of 1981.
1982 saw AB score 3 Top 10 grossers including Namak Halal (3rd), Satte Pe Satta (6th) and Shakti (8th), which only "underperformed" because for a first time casting coup of Dilip Kumar + Amitabh Bachchan it wasn't a mega success as expectations were huge.
Pukar had a silver jubilee at the box office. Mahaan was a sizeable hit. As was Aakhree Raasta (Top 5 of '86).

So like I said, to praise one star, it is completely unnecessary to drag down others. AB did have a slump, but it was not in 1979... more like a whole decade later.

SRK's achievements are unmatched. He is the King. He doesn't need this kind of cheap praise.

Cheap Praise??? Don't be offensive for the lack of argument & logic!!5th biggest hit..If that is success, then what is failure??
Shaan is regarded as Ramesh Sippy's biggest Dud...Saagar pulled him out of it!!
1981 saw the huge Silsila flopping...In late seventies there were many movies like Khoon Paseena, Gunga Ki Saugandh etc which didn't do well...
Infact in late 80s he has massive duds such as Toofan,Ajooba ,Janga Jumna Saraswati Indrjeet etc ...Even his critically acclaimed films such as Agneepath & Main Azaad Hoon bombed!!!

i am going to write an essay today n bore u all so be warned 😆

first thing never defend srk against revengeful bashers or foul mouthed critics..😆
coz his contribution to Indian Cinema is beyond the scope of scrutiny
so whenever i do nt defend him its nt because i am questioning his credibility
rather coz i am nt defensive abt him as he needs no one's defense n most certainly
he is nt answerable to those who uses hatred more than logic to bash him
i feel its a disrespect shown to srk the man if i need to defend him before those
who obsessively hates him so i love to follow what our dear IF member @Hajmola
uses as her sig " 😆Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and
beat you with experience " 🤣

second do not compare srk with anyone.he is a league of his own ..
he is the yardstick of bollywood..else he would nt have been the evaluative
procedure used to compare every old ..present..n up coming actors..
has Amir khan ever been compared with Dilip Kumar?or Amitab?no na?😆
has ranveer or ranbir been told the next salman khan?no na?🤣
see my point?he is that universal weighing scale of talent in bollywood who
at 50 years also is celebrated by BM in a victory n is only celebrated as its won
against a Maharathi nt a liliput so in defeat also srk is being glorified n heralded 😉
when anyone comes up with box office figures to show him up i find it as the fans
insecurity to defend srk similarly when someone comes up with his box office figures
to show srk down i find it as much amusing that u need to validate or non-validate srk so much..
with help of statistics..maths is just a conception..0 n infinity both are imagination
so whats these statistics?😆

third he may be consistent or non-consistent n nt be Don Bradman
bt he is certainly a VVS laxman types game changer whose one innings
earned him the hall of fame ..be it ddlj or darr where no hero wanted to play negative..
be it swadesh or CDI or Dil Se he has stood test of time...through skills
n this no man can deny by logic..may irrational minds question n dispute srks
capability...i am far from such practice of preaching those who can not be taught 🤣
