"In the past one-and-a-half years, the efforts of our Prime Minister have enhanced the respect of our country globally," he said at a function organized at Delhi University's SGTB Khalsa College. "We're committed to the dignity, rights and the security of every single person in this country. There's no need to return awards for that."
Madhav said the BJP would honour the diversity of the country and always strive for equality. Without naming actor Aamir Khan, he said: "On the one hand you teach auto drivers that they should safeguard the country's honour, but on the other you aren't teaching your wife to respect one's nation. This is not right."
Khan had recently said his wife had wondered if they should leave the country since she feared for the safety of their child in a "climate of insecurity".
