Support how? I don think i agree with this 'SRK is an outsider' theory..Yes, he is..And its amazing that he reached so far despite being an outsider..But common, he is a freaking superstar now..I doubt SRK being an outsider matters anymore..KJo who is the poster-boy of nepotism has done almost every film of his with SRK..YRF, which was the biggest PH back then loves SRK 😆 And am pretty sure almost every director wants to work with him..What is with this 'everyone is against him' argument? I don think he needs anyone in the first place..If SRK/ Salman/ Aamir make a good film, nothing/ no one can stop it from doing well..About why the industry is not supportive, well because everyone in Bollywood is selfish..They don really care/ interfere unless they have something to gain out of it..Or just to jump on the bandwagon of a successful star 😆

@Bold: Oh another group added to the Tards(🤢 Hate this word to the core) category now? Seriously people need to stop using such words loosely...

I hope the movie is successful or else we'll see articles like " I cried for hours".. No re baba, can't deal with this emotional black mailing.. It's better if the movie gets a hit tag...

Wow now Modi supporters are even blamed for a bad movie being flopped. seriously?
make a bad movie. then u expect everyone t watch this. RSS may have any presence in North India but except Haryana and Rajasthan none of the state govt. will let them have any say regarding movie bans.

Anyways, I dont think anyone can stop people watching any movie if it is good.

Movie Bekaar banao upar se controversial statement do phir dusro ko blame karo.

Good this movie tanked. SRK needs to do content based movies. If the movie is good no one can stop people. Jodha Akbar also faced protests but it still became a hit.

Far worse movies than DW have done well at BO...in recent years, really trashy movies have done well because they didnt face these protests or such vicious negative campaigning online.

Of course BM will do much better in Maharashtra, its abt a Maratha general, thats a no brainer. 😆

But DW is doing excellent business in states like Kerala and West Bengal where normally more content based movies do better. BM is lagging far behind Dilwale in WB and Kerala...that shows DW is not as trashy as this forum or biased online reviews are projecting it to be. 😉

I didnt make up those circuit based conclusions. THis forum's favorite BOI has given this opinion abt DW's poor performance in certain circuits.

http://www.boxofficeindia.com/art_detail.php?articalid=1688

The first week of Dilwale has affected by this intolerence thing going on with Shahrukh Khan in India. Its difficult to put a number on it but the circuit ratios make little sense and its unlikely that a major commercial release has seen such ratios where the circuits with a smaller mass audience are out performing while the core Hindi markets are under performing by a distance.

The film has scored very well in West Bengal, Nizam / Andhra, Mysore and Tamil Nadu / Kerala. In all these circuits it will emerge among the top five highest grossing films ever. All these circuits are where there is more of a class audience rather than mass for Hindi films. Probably because mass prefers the regional cinema in these places and language also an issue in some of these circuits.

The other markets which are core Hindi markets have under performed by big margins. While the above circuits are among the biggest ever for week one, many of the other circuits are not even in top twenty for their respective first weeks. A West Bengal and Nizam being similar to East Punjab, a CI is being less than Tamil Nadu / Kerala, these sort of things just don't happen with this genre.

Basically the audience in mass pockets has kept away and Dilwale suffered as the intolerence thing was fresh at time of release. Its not that film would have been a blockbuster if the problem was not there but it would have done more business for sure.. The first week territorial breakdown of Dilwale is as follows

ALSO THIS:

Do u mean to say all NRIs and other BW fans abroad dont know how to tell if a film is good or bad? 😆

http://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/bollywood/dilwale-box-office-collections-srks-film-collects-rs-273-5-crore-worldwide/

Dilwale box office collections: SRK's film collects Rs 273.5 crore worldwide

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dilwale' continues to be on a roll as the film has collected Rs. 273.5 cr gross worldwide.

Shah Rukh Khan's latest release Dilwale' continues to be on a roll and the film has collected Rs. 273.5 cr gross worlwide.

Dilwale has crossed the collections of Aamir Khan's PK', Salman Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' and his own film Happy New Year' in UAE. According to a press release by Red Chillies Entertainment, Dilwale' has collected $6.3 million in UAE and has acquired the third position in the list of all time highest grossers in 10 days.

It has also become the highest grosser in Malaysia in 10 days, with a collection of $400,000; and the second highest grosser of this year in UK. (Read: Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale crosses Rs. 100 cr in India, Deepika's Bajirao Mastani' picking up pace)

The overall overseas collections of Dilwale' in 10 days is $16.75 million.

Dilwale can't even match MNIK performance outside India and MNIK released in 2010. If you consider inflation and other factors it not even close.

Dilwale has under performed in USA/Canada...maybe because USA is also intolerant i guess or it is controlled by Modi Bhakts...😆

Dilwale has failed/under-performed in all big markets be it India or outside India. Blame the product not Modi bhakts for the failure.

Dilwale could have done better if it was a single release but when people have better movie to watch who will spend money on crap like Dilwale.

Any movie, whether good or bad shd get a fair chance at doing its business at BO, and not being deliberately brought down by shows being forced to shut down.
Anyway I hope this same negativity happens in real world with other star's movies next year, then we will sit with popcorn and enjoy.😉
The question was why industry is not supporting SRK against those BJP bhakts who are shutting down screenings.

What exactly do you expect them to do??? 😕

...and honestly the shutting down screenings is not like ALL the screenings were shut down, its just a few here and a few there...

I already told you why PRDP and other trash had a good run...Its the loyal fans! Most of the SRK fans themselves didn't like Dilwale and openly trashing the movie...My own family has a few of them and they were so pissed off with the movie that they were going around telling everyone not to watch it...But I haven't heard a single Salman or Ajay fan calling their masala movies or any movies for that matter trash! If SRK doesn't have loyal fans in India, what to do?
