Regardless of the movie potential, I will say this.

Many people in BW were envious of Phantom's glorious run with Queen (BO, critics, awards). Being a boutique production house, no one expected them to be so successful this quick.

Everyone wanted their "commercial" big ticket to fail. It's unfortunate that the movies lacked substance but are they the worst of cinema?? Heck NO!!!!

Phantoms, go back to your basics and regain the glory. You can do it. All the best!

#Udaan #GoW #Queen #Lootera #Ugly

Phantom's only successful film till now is Queen. I don't think anyone is envious of the production house's success (I still don't feel Phantom is a successful production house- money wise).

Content wise though they are really good, probably the best at the moment.
Another exhibitor, who does not wish to be named either, said that people watching Shaandaar in his theatres are now tearing the upholstery in his chairs.
You have to wonder ... is it really the movie? Or the emotional attachment of a bunch of immature brats who have no respect at all for the property of others and think that somehow the seat cushion, which gives their enormously fat asses something to sit on during a movie, is responsible for Shandaar failure. If you didn't get an idea of how shandaar Shandaar would be during the trailers, you have a significant amount of learning to do. Shandaar's trailers weren't that good. And how in the world do people think that "Aila Alia" the character's name, is something that will result in a brilliant work of art. No, you have all failed yourselves for believing in this movie. In the end, I suggest you all go to your own houses and tear up your own seat cushions and sit your fluffy behind in a hard stool because if you are that emotionally drawn to a movie, you have bigger problems in life.

Actually, I'm just joking. i haven't even seen the movie. It's just hilarious to read about all these stories.

I have not seen such disastrous collections like #Shaandaar in the recent years. Most shows cancelled in want of audience in last 2 days.

it's already made more money than bombay velvet, which had a much higher budget
bv didn't even get an opening.

In terms of the film, yes it really was that bad. It wasn't that it was a quirky story that common people couldn't relate too. There was no story for anybody to relate too.

The tearing up upholstery bit seems rather far-fetched though. Lesson for Kjo though. He can't dole out crap and just package it nicely with OTT promotions, big stars, nice production values and still expect it too work. Audience aren't fools.
