The funny thing is the film had a better opening day and opening weekend than most female oriented films! Somehow people are blind to the fact. Openings are a good way to judge star power the rest of the battle is all based on content!

Yes - the movies content falters and THATS the reason the film underperformed! Content is everything today, content decides which films will work and which won't. That's why today films like Brothers, Singh is Bling, Katti Batti, Jazbaa are underperforming and films like Pyar Ka Punchnama 2 and Talvar are doing well!

At the same time, the actors in PKP2 and Talvar will never be as a big of a star like Akshay, Ash or even Sid Malhotra! And we all know that.

It didn't fail. Koimoi reported that it was in the profit making zone. Not sure how reliable they are, but it definitely isn't a FLOP. The fact that it made domestic 22 crores on 33ish budget is still not bad. And factor in the 10 crores overseas but the 8 crores satelite rights. It's def not even close to a flop.

Bahurani is a successful model other than that it was 99.9% hype ( she has one of the best PR imo) and 0.1 % acting skills .. hype cannot pull in crowds when there is lack of content or a super hero

Yeah but PKP2 is the second instalment of a very successful youth oriented film that was huge back in 2011. There is a reason why a movie has a sequel... its because the first part worked...Did I really have to explain that? Its pretty obvious.

Look at the first Pyar Ka Punchnama, it had an opening day of 90 Lakhs back in 2011, but as I said before the CONTENT and positive WOMcontributed and slowly made it into a rage. And all the people who are going to watch PKP2 are going because of the CONTENT and story. Nobody is going to watch PKP2 for the actors involved - everyone knows that.

Also, you're comparing a youth comedy to a dark film, which is illogical.
