i m a south indian and a rajini fan.i dont think salman will be able to do so.we certainly dont need our stars to be good looking as long as they convince us with their acting.i often have my north indian friends complain about the looks of our stars.they act as a auto driver and they looklike one,they act like a cooli and look like exactly that.this is what matters for us.we never expect a actor who enacts as a taxi driver to roam with six pack body.nowadays our directors are the heros with a lot of different projects which can engage us.so i think the big heros of north must remake the movie and be happy.and please stop with the they even like rajni so what harm in liking salman.

South is a different animal. We are more introverted, conservative bunch of people and our humour is also different. Dancing in different directions at once and shaking one muscle of the body does nothing to Southerners as it does to the North and West Indians. Southerners look for acting skills even in the most masala movies and the biggest stars. So..No. Salman cant make it big in South. He cannot beat Rajinikanth, Ajith, Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan and he definitely cant come close to Mamooty and Lalettan's acting skills.

Most of us don't even care about bollywood . There are some who hate hindi and bollywood actors .

Salman has a market here, why the hell will he try to challenge people down south

Each one has their own place. Southies watch both, Bollywood and regional movies. First one, they watch for glamour. Regionals have the nativity. One cannot replace the other. To make a mark there, you should become one like them, surrendering all other identities. Like Khushboo is more a Tamil than northerner, Rajnikant is more a Tamilian than Marati.
If Madhuri acts in Marathi movies, DP acts in a Kannada movie, they won't become hits. Bangaloreans would prefer to watch DP in Bollywood rather than Kannada movies, as she is too glamorous for Kannada movie industry. Same can be said with other South Indian stars like Hema or Rekha. When South Indians can't accept their own people as stars, them making an outsider as a superstar is a high expectation.

Sridevi was an exception, who could conquer both south and north.
