Kjo's kitty is now just that ..a kitty. No one cares.

Every year boundaries are pushed..Quantico being the latest..

An actor needs to at least stay relevant with their work in these times of change...

Show people what they are capable of...

He is this generations ABJr, but to be fair he has done some good work. But the reason that I've never been a huge fan of his is because of the way he was shoved in our faces. Yeah he is good but seriously not the greatest actor ever. Also when he debuted people were much more open to new faces plus the directors and writers were coming up with better content, he has luck and the industry on his side.

Lol@ people continuously dissing Ranbir for 3 flops. Out of which one was a guest role 😆 he is the only actor of his generation who has the biggest hits. Most of his contemporaries are struggling with semi hits and average even with the best of directors like Zoya and Vishal. Has the max no.of awards as well. Its because of his acting talent that people like Hirani and Anurag basu are working with him, they don't care about his surname.

If Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Kangana and Deepika can get movie offers after a series of flops, so can Ranbir, the latter even has a series of successful films prior to these flops. 😆

LOL Ranbir isn't getting films based on his last name...but rather his credentials pre-flop phase. He had major critical and commercial success hence people like Hirani are wanting to work with him. I doubt Hirani gives a crap about last name anyways.

That being said -- I don't think Ranbir has taken his failure seriously at all. I know he's a detached person in general but he always seems unperturbed by his films flopping or his acting being panned. ...his upcoming films have been a cushion for him I guess.

I think he is the only actor of his generation who had both critical and commercial success prior to 3 flops( Roy and Besharam got a huge opening thanks to him only)
He is actually a very good actor...def better than Mr Shahid Kapoor whom nobody discusses much on this forum despite ALSO working with big directors after flops.

Ranbir has actually proved himself again and again...with Wake up Sid, Rocket Singh, Barfi, Rockstar, Anjaana Anjaani and YJHD...and some more films which were hits

So why diss him for Bimbay Velvet whereas his perf. was actually appreciated there?

Yes its totally weird that Ranbir still gets good projects ( i wouldn't even call them the best out there cos they clearly aren't 😆)..I mean just look at the filmography, critical acclaim and BO pull of his contemporaries..And then compare it to Ranbir's..Its beyond obvious that its only his surname 😛😆

Okay let's be fair, he's not only getting films because of his surname. The guy is highly talented, his past filmography speaks for itself. He's not AB. Jnr in any sense. (and I say this as someone who doesn't really like RK)
Although I do agree that he is incredibly smart to have befriended all these good directors, effectively blocking them off to anyone else. But hey, that's not really a bad thing you need to be smart in this industry and play certain games in order to survive.

I hope he doesn't take for granted the fact that he's the industry's favourite though, and hope he challenges himself and continues to work hard. If he keeps that disinterested look about him the audience will move on.
