The premiere did have lots of twists and turns but I think the reason why they would make it so full of developments is to catch the interest of the audience and to get their pilot picked up. Just what my guess is.

So I just saw episode 1. I'm excited for this show. But does anyone feel her accent to be 'fake'. Like she's trying too hard to have that accent? I don't feel like I even have that accent and I'm born and raised in America. :/

And I'm Canadian. Ummm...she's Indian of course she's not going to have a full on American accent. And yes she is trying hard, I would be too if I was playing the main lead on a show on ABC. I would have to try my hardest to pull off an American accent. It's a different matter that no matter how much you try you can never really get the western accent 100%.

her accent is rehearsed, she has even admitted to that. But what can she do, its an american show. I think trying to force an accent takes away from her acting. but i mean she is still good, and i like the show.
